Has there ever been a study or theory on why conservative like memes more than liberals?

Conservatives have a sense of humor.

Liberals definitely have a sense of humour, but I hear what you’re saying.. it’s like different. I feel like when I’m not high I could articulate it better.

Many comics, most of whom are very liberal have discussed it. You can’t be funny if you are living in fear of offending someone five years from now.

Today’s memes are similar humor to Monty Python and SNL in the 70s. People are just now retarded and unfunny and take themselves too seriously.

A proper study doesn't need to be made. A general objective observation will answer this question.

First, it's the left that is overly sensitive and gets butthurt over everything that doesn't matter. That in itself dramatically limits what they can poke fun at.

Second, just look at the quality and accuracy of the memes from each side. There's simply more to make fun of when dealing with people who are gender confused. The memes from the left rarely nail the target. It's usually a stretch and makes little sense. Or if it does nail the target, it't often blatantly hypocritical.

Their feelings, changing of stances, and ignorance make it difficult to make a quality meme.
