This is true, but so is lead and MTBE.

Wasn't lead removed from gasoline before ethanol was added?

He took a bunch of classes.

No matter what additives were used in the past we are using Ethanol because environmentalists and lobbyist. Not because we have always used additives. The fact we have always used additives is meaningless and an intellectually dishonest way for the Left to confuse people.

Had not a single additive ever been used prior to ethanol we would be using ethanol today. Too much money involved.

Big Corn and Big Green. Ethanol should be drunk, not used for motor fuel.

And you didn't? Why do you keep ignoring the parts of my posts where I say that industry capitalized on switching to Ethanol?

It's a complete red herring on the issue. Instead of just admitting that and moving on, he's just continuing this silly smugness, like he came off in his first post. It's weird, because he seems somewhat knowledgeable on the subject otherwise.

No, I'm just trying to be objective. People slam the EPA over this, but it isn't entirely their fault.

Besides, if I wanted to be smug I would say something like this: Ethanol lobbiests capitalized on the situation. Why do you hate capitalism? Are you a communist?

But, that's really not at all what anyone is doing.

The corn lobby =/= the EPA, although there's no doubt they used the environmental angle a good bit to ram this shite through.

And I'm not for the corn lobby. I'm well aware of how bad corn based ethanol is. In fact it's environmental hypocrisy.

Bamarep I would say climate change is #1 and ethanol is #1a.
