Goya Foods President and CEO Bob Unanue said on Friday that he is not backing down in the face of a boycott over his visit to the White House.
FoxNews
“We were part of a commission called the White House Hispanic Prosperity Initiative and they called on us to be there to see how we could help opportunities within the economic and educational realm for prosperity among Hispanics and among the United States,” Unanue told "Fox & Friends."
Unanue said that the United States is the second-largest Hispanic country in the world behind Mexico.
Politicians and celebrities are boycotting Goya, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the country, after its CEO, Robert Unanue, praised President Donald Trump during an event Thursday at the White House.
"We're all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder," said Unanue, who is of Spanish descent, at the event.
That last bit is what got him into trouble with cancel culture.
This guy is about to be canceled:

If Hispanics boycott his product he’ll be in trouble, but I don’t think that will happen.

How stupid is it for a CEO of a company to come out with any political stance, left or right. You immediately piss off half your potential customer base.
Had a lady come through last month wanting to put her husband's sign in front of our business. I have no idea if he's right, left or in the middle. It was a big no from me.

I'm sure he's terrified.

I’d hate to be a Goya shareholder right now.

The people arguing for a boycott probably have never had a Goya product in their life.

I'll bet 98% of them never bought a Goya product in their life.
Hispanics are mostly conservative.

The word "Hispanic" has almost no meaning.
That dude is whiter than me.

Most hispanics are white. We used to consider Italians and Irish people to be minorities - even discriminated against them for a while in the US.
Then they sort of just merged with the rest of the country.

I mean, what does he have to lose?
Either bow down and quit. Or stand up and make them try to fire you.
I don’t know why more people don’t take this approach

Exactly.
You remember when the far right whackos boycotted Goya when he had the nerve to meet with Obama in the White House? Yeah, me either.....

The “goy” in their name shows they are anti Semitic
They should change the name to jewa foods

Hispanics are also largely Roman Catholic and very family oriented. They aren’t falling for the socialism bullshite. They’ve been too close to it before.

Wasn't even aware of this brand, but I'll sure as hell be looking out for it next time I am at the store.

Exactly my point.
Hispanics are no more a minority block than Italians or Greeks.
For every dark skinned Pedro there are 10 people white as a ghost.

You are one of the largest manufacturers of Hispanic food products and the White House invites you to be a part of something called the White House Hispanic Prosperity Initiative. You are proposing what, that they say, “Nah, no thanks we don’t want any part of this because X President is in the White House”.
Ok muchacho.
