4) Congress can't make laws on the citizens that don't apply to themselves
. For 100% of the DNCs and 50% of the GOPs, seems the main reason they go to congress is to manipulate the system for personal gain. Sure they throw us a bone on occasion but it they could not manipulate investments that they themselves invest in, they probably would not even run for office. That is how Pelosi and Feinstein made their fortune, throwing tax payer money behind their investments and letting other legislators join the investing club.

IMO, I don't want to open the Constitution up for amendments with the group running things now. I would prefer that we simply follow what is already there.

All Amendments are ratified by the state legislatures, which are overwhelmingly Republican. Can we repeal the 17th while we’re there? The population already has representation in the House. The States need representation that they appoint, not by a popular vote of the general citizenry.

Force the military to pass their audit. Every cent unaccounted for comes out of the next fiscal year. Tired of those scumbags ripping us off.

This thread should be stickied so everyone can see the idiots that made every excuse Trump told them to hate Desantis, make even bigger fools of themselves

Of course the low IQ sycophant classics are all here because Desantis has a promising conservative idea - Robbobobb, SDVtard, Davey, Fat Bastard, etc.

Somehow they're *still* finding ways to prove they're not actual conservatives, but instead only care about a man, a personality over everything else.

Nothing has changed over the months I've avoided this board

You stated term limits is a "terrible" idea.

I fear that term limits will simply permit donors to obtain control of legislation by simply offering jobs to term limited Congress members. It will unintentionally increase the loyalty of elected officials to donors and decrease their accountability to voters. It will also create a second unaccountable branch of government in the form of congressional staffers - who can’t be unelected or term limited and will never go away.

You’ll end up with more figureheads and party loyalists than before.

The only members of the federal government who should be subject to term limits are in the executive branch. Instead these assholes can’t be fired and we have no way to vote them out.

Term limits sound great - but in practice- I think they are bad for public policy and would remove accountability from the voters.

You realize that already happens, right?

Again, how does that "increase", when it already exists? How many current sitting congressmen/women go from middle class to millionaires within their first or 2nd term? How does that happen? It's already happening.

Why the exception?

An elected rep can always be voted out if the rep does something that his constituents disagree with.

A term limited rep has nothing to lose for defying his constituents.

Administrative officials are bureaucrats who cannot be fired or voted out. Yet they make legislation. There’s no check on them. So may as well rotate them out periodically.
