FIFY

Voters just want drama. The rest of us want solid policy, good leadership and far less drama.

Just look at this thread.

A State legislature and Governor are calling for a Constitutional Convention, ACTUALLY taking efforts to try and make it happen, about issues that would be in at least 95% agreement among conservatives...

And we have the two usual chuckleheads melting down over it because they are so ate up with hatred for Conservatism.

Its obvious they see the 25 Republican Governors coming together on the Texas issue and see a moment where there is some semblance of unity and available action and want to take advantage of it.

The timing is perfect.

The seals will come around when trump tells them it’s a great thing to do and was his idea.

Its very obvious why they are doing it.

I applaud the effort to seize the moment. Will it happen? probably not. Given our division, I'm not sure we see a successful Constitutional Amendment again in our lifetimes.

But its still a fight worth having.

Also much credit should go to the Florida Speaker of the House, who is spearheading the efforts with the legislature.

The conversation about this topic would have been drastically different if you would have said trump pushed for those same things.

It’s all so funny.

Would this make it illegal for politicians to invest money in the stock market? Its insider trading, illegal for us but ok for them...

It would obviously depend on the framing of the Amendment.

But in theory, yes.

I expect if I had to predict which one had the least chance of passing, it would likely be that one.

I legit believe he can do more for the country as governor than potus.

Thats not a knock on him, its testament to how broken DC is.

Where was this during his campaign? Because it appears he ran on covid, removing worthless eleced officials, abortion, hate speech, and the 2A??

I still feel like he never wanted to run against Trump and only did (probably pushed by others) as a failsafe in case the criminal cases actually created a problem. Now that we can see the cases are meaningless and the fact that he never truly went hard after Trump, he is focusing on his strengths as a strong executive and knows that will need a republican president/congress for this to come to fruition. States will have to ratify, but for the process to even start. And gives Trump a chance to talk about supporting this effort which leads to the most important part: a path to party unity that all can rally around. DeSantis doing something that is a win for Country and strengthens the GOP opportunities for election success as a unified campaign plank of the party platform.

Dec. 5, 1933 when the 21st Amendment was ratified to repeal the 18th Amendment which had banned alcohol. That's about it.

Like I said, one issue you cant even link to. Another is from 6 years ago, and the other two were from last summer. Ya know when no one is paying attention until after Labor Day?

Thanks for the confirmation of my point. Heading into the primaries . . . . not a peep

He talks about it all of the time, in campaign speeches and elsewhere.

You just didn't listen to a single one because your mind was made up.

You've admitted you didn't know anything about him until he decided to run so...

MAGA will be full blown democratic socialism within a year. Trump actually practiced MMT his 4 years in office.
