If you value public lands I don't see how you support this. Trump came out in favor of federal public lands as well so I would imagine the majority of this board also wouldn't like it being sold. Hopefully trump keeps his word

I read the OP as him looking for the pros and cons, he had already formed his opinion. That being said I agree with you in general.

Man, you must be new around here if you think I'm one who needs coaching about forming an opinion.
I'm a public land hunter out west. I've fished public lands out west as well.
They are proposing the relinquishment of 3.3 million acres out west...originally designated to be sold by Clinton.
The financial burden of upkeep is not cheap, but small in comparison to other waste. The benefits are very real to keeping these lands open to the public.
This reeks of corruption in my opinion. BUT...unlike most motherfrickers here, I'm open to hearing opposing views.

The gubment owns way too much land. A lot of it should be sold to American citizens.

You already have a prime piece of hunting land. It is possible to hunt public lands within certain rules. If it is sold off, you will not be in the ballpark to buy anything unless you have millions upon millions in disposable cash. Your prime hunting land will become private mining land.

3.3 million acres is a paltry number set against how much land they do own.
You have a problem with seeing if the land can be put to use and generate some revenue?

I say divide all of that red area in California and NV into 40acre tracts and put one mule a piece on it. "You get 90 days to stake your claim. You have to live on it for two years or you forfeit ownership rights."
