A lot of people I know liked Ron Paul, but didn't really invest any support because of the nature of his base (weirdo college kids, true isolationists, etc.). That's not fair to the candidate, but it definitely happens.

That's a lot of stupid people.

If Rand Paul is nominated for the R ticket, I'll vote for him. It'll be the first R I've ever voted for in a presidential election in 20 years.

Barack Obama received a lot of heat because his close friendship with Jeremiah Wright, a man who served honorably in the U.S. military for six years, mainly due to Wright's claim that 9/11 was the result of what the CIA calls blowback. Admittedly, Wright's language was inflammatory, but his message was the same as that expressed by Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul about the causes of 9/11, and according to most of the folks on this board, there's no such thing as constructive and destructive criticism, just criticism.

Anyway, compared to the sentiments that Sheldon Adelson expressed in this video, Wright is the ultimate patriot, but the politicians who have kissed his ring have gotten a pass on their association with him. Why is that?

Assuming Rand doesn't sell out in his chase for the nomination, I'll vote for him if Hillary is the Democratic nominee, but all bets are off if the Democrats nominate a non-interventionist liberal. Also, for the record, I voted for Dole too.

I talk about Rand every chance I get. So many of my Republican and minority friends haven't heard much about him or given him much thought. It's led to many follow-up conversations in all groups. Just keep preaching the word.

That, in my opinion, is far more inflamatory statement "unfortunately I served in the u.s. military". If I had my way, I'd wrap Adelson in an Israeli flag and drop him off in the middle of Falluja with the promise that if he could make it to the city limits alive, he'd get a million $. The arrogance of Zionism will be its undoing.

I don't see how any GOP member can read that story, understand that mainstream GOP fully embraces these Jewish frickers that don't give a frick about the US - only their money, and still cast blind allegiance to the party.

GOP needs a massive shake up. Ironically, Rand is the one that could actually get it done. I imagine that once he takes office (hopefully), we'll hear less and less of these types being needed to win an election.

I'm quite sure that the cowards like Christie and the morons like Cruz wouldn't align themselves with these guys, either. It's just that they don't see any other option for winning and, subsequently, their complete lack of a backbone/preponderance for being pussies makes it so, so difficult.

I've talked to super-lib friends and compare him back to Hillary. I point out her neo-con hawkish stances and then point out Ron's "non-interventionist" roles.

I don't expect them to vote for him over Hillary but I personally find it interesting that comparing him to Hillary is a net positive for him, or at least has been so far.
