I don’t know any one human being who watches football so they can receive a social lecture or discuss politics or the like. It’s a diversion from the realities of life. That’s a fact.

It's a win win. There's a concerted effort to destroy football anyway, if they don't destroy it you will be force fed.

The players are pawns and the owners hands are tied. Football has been handed its death sentence. It will go down whether you, I, or anybody likes it or not.

Good. When the NFL dies college football goes with it. Will be a good time.

You seem like a bowler.

what quarter was that? were they losing really bad?

Excellent questions!
Quarter? Right before Opening kickoff!
Thursday NIGHT game. Notice blue skies (daylight) and players on the field with shadows?
Loosing bad? No, competitive 0-0 at time of photo.

We bought Saints season tickets this year (upper deck) to use some and give away others. We planned going to the Lions game then I got sick a day before and couldn’t make it. Was going to try and sell them then I saw you could buy a pair of Uppers on stubhub for $15. Wasn’t even worth the hassle.

Take a wild guess. Their team is 2-20 since they started focusing more on "protests" than playing football.

I feel your pain bro! Hope you and yours are well.
Let's hope the fans booing the players during the moment of silence lets Benson appreciate their unhappiness.

First time the Saints break 500 since 2013, and they are greeted with empty seats and boos. This ain't your daddy's NFL!

49ers are 0-6. It's obviously a poorly ran operation. The other 31 owners should be pissed at them for not shutting this bullshite down from the jump.

Another excellent point. And a damn good question.
Here's the Jags this Sunday.

Yes they suck too! 3-3 first place.

How about the Falcons? 3-2 and in 2nd place NFC South.

Pretty light!

How about the Texans? 3-3 in first

Not so good!

Baltimore must be better! 3-3 second place

Not!

Surly the Jets? 3-3 second place.

Well this is getting embarrassing!

So with SF I find 6 boycotted games this last week, in about 10 minutes of googling!
With each team getting a bye, how many are played? On average 15. Therefore 6/15x100=40%! Maybe we should look up the other 9 games, but if 40% suck, the NFL SUCKS!

Nothing to see here!

Monday night football is still posting better ratings than last year. Revenue and ratings are still up from the glory days the other post mentioned 8-10 years ago.

Totally unrelated (but related), I can't believe how horrible the 49er's stadium is. They spent over a billion dollars and built a hot and crappy field an hour away from San Fransisco.

Hey now. We are tied for 1st in the division.

Anyway, I was there. The stadium was hardly close to full but that picture was while fans were still getting drinks and bathroom breaks.

NFL will never die but that doesn't mean the next tv contract negotiations will go well for the NFL. The networks already overpaid for the NFL. With a 20% drop in ratings from 2 years ago, the network's numbers are going to take a hit. Simple fact.

Another fact, they won't get everyone back. Some people leave and realize they don't miss the games at all.

The networks, it would seem, are currently in what I like to call the catbird seat with regard to future TV contract negotiations.

You are correct. The NFL will not literally die, but it is being disciplined. Now we will see if it heads the lesson.

Totally agree. And it’s not only the football game that is political and preachy, but the advertisements too. And we all know the Super Bowl commercials are the worst with the messages they send.

Of course it is Goodell's fault because he is white!
