The sun has gone quiet…solar cycle 24 continues to rank as one of the weakest cycles more than a century

If theres one thing youre gonna miss when its gone . . . is the sun
quote:

Finally, if history is a guide, it is safe to say that weak solar activity for a prolonged period of time can have a negative impact on global temperatures in the troposphere which is the bottom-most layer of Earth’s atmosphere – and where we all live.

quote:

There have been two notable historical periods with decades-long episodes of low solar activity. The first period is known as the “Maunder Minimum”, named after the solar astronomer Edward Maunder, and it lasted from around 1645 to 1715. The second one is referred to as the “Dalton Minimum”, named for the English meteorologist John Dalton, and it lasted from about 1790 to 1830. Both of these historical periods coincided with below-normal global temperatures in an era now referred to by many as the “Little Ice Age”.

Its gonna be quite comical when the govt calls on its citizens to increase their carbon footprint, in an attempt to stave off the New Little Ice Age.

The only way to contol the global temperatures in through more taxes. The world governments need to get on board and increase our taxes now.

Right now in Benton, La. it's about 20 degrees below normal. I'm loving it. So are the dogs.

Impossible, we know the only factor that affects the climate is CO2 levels.

Everything else is static and never changes.

Good idea. We can send the IRS to the sun to personally collect taxes from it.

I suggest we find an active volcano and throw a scantily clad Rosie O'Donald down it to appease the Gods.

Actually, it's spelled "O' Donnell". Geez, don't you know your favorite fat lesbian loud mouth's name?

Also, nice ankle+foot tattoo, Rosie.

I've always thought the normal human reaction to this sort of report should be something along the lines of: "Well, that's sort of interesting. Let's look into that some more because it sure would be great if this pending worldwide calamity is not really as bad as we previously thought."

Amazingly, it never is with certain individuals.

Hey, someone posted a thread today about Michael Sams getting the 'Author Ash' award. I thought about asking how many books Arthur Ashe wrote. But I stepped away from the keyboard.
