Obama, like FDR in the 30's, extended the recovery from the recession/depression. Reagan's policies had us back to full force within 2 years but cutting taxes and de-regulating. Obama has done the opposite.

The perks and amenities that come with the job are awesome as shite and they're still not adequate enough compensation for me to even think about wanting to be President of the United States of America. You'd have to pay me 25-30 billion a year to even be lukewarm to it.

what would the economy look like if Obama increased the size of govt like Reagan did. Or increased govt spending.

Reagan did this to defeat a world enemy. All Obama has done is created a climate in Iraq where a new world enemy has taken power. He was warned about withdrawing before things were okay, and he now had to deal with the consequences.

Obama will be judged on mobilizing a Arab fighting force to defeat ISIL and presuading NATO to stand up to Putin.

If Obama can effectively complete these two tasks, he will deserve praise for this. But, when I say "complete", I really mean "complete", and not making a couple of speeches saying "I ended Putin's aggression" "I defeated ISIL"

I hate it, but I got the feeling last week that he's been trying to politicize the ISIS situation and using the "hurry-up and wait" strategy to get everybody on his side before the November elections. My suspicions were confirmed yesterday when he revealed there'd be a nationally televised address on ISIS the night of September tenth, and that he's extended the deadline for his immigration reform proposal(s) until after the elections. Of course at that point, even if there is a majority in the Senate and HoR, the media will have probably played immigration down even further to the point that there's less attention on his EO.

Obama should be remembered as an awful time for politics. Not because of him. Look at how unproductive Congress is and ask how Obama can even fail? He really needs to pass his legislation before we can say he failed.

In short, both sides don't compromise.
