The most famous capitalist and one of the richest men in American history was the driving force behind the majority of libraries in this country for good reason.

The sad thing is your pseudo-capitalist arse is too dumb to begin to comprehend why, just keep bleating and keep your head to the ground, it is all you are good for.

Being labeled a telecom/NN is just a few years old.. so that doesn't really hold water.

Do you really not see that you are trying to have the government regulate ISPs like they did phone companoes back in the day?

Are you about to tell me that the regulated phone/ld industry was good for consumers and we should go back to it?

One land-based provider, sure. There are other options, and they improve with technology.

Actually I'd like to see them regulated by setting a minimum standard that every ISP has to abide by.. I don't care if it's via NN and labeling the internet a telecom or by EO and simply disallowing fast/slow lanes to protect free speech and the distribution of content. Quality of ISP service has improved dramatically since net neutrality.. proof is in the pudding.

Most Americans (by a lot) oppose reversing the decision.. plutocracy sucks especially when it's visible

Of all issues for the GOP to support this is by far the strangest. It's up there with the war on drugs as far as being universally despised

Quality of ISP service increasing has absolutely nothing to do with net neutrality.

The contrast between this thread and the one on the Tech board is quite astounding.

Requiring all internet traffic to be treated equally removes a slimy way for an ISP to generate revenue and moves the competition to who can deliver the better product (access to the internet).

Right now AT&T customers can stream DirecTV without it counting toward your monthly data caps (which are also bullshite btw). But if you want to watch Netflix or another video service you rack up data charges and ultimately have to pay more for your internet. AT&T offers a cheaper data deal to DirecTV (its own video service) than it does to outside video providers like Netflix. That discourages competition and it shouldn't be allowed. A better solution would be to break the companies up but I'll settle for internet traffic being treated equally.

It's funny though.. Verizon (owns Go-90) received a letter for violating net neutrality rules. Ajit Pai (former Verizon general counsel) runs the show now and rescinded the letter when he became chairman.

1) I pay to access the internet at X speed through their infrastructure
2) Comcast charges content creators to deliver content to me
3) I pay for access to content
4) Comcast begins to create content and to deliver content
5) Comcast begins to charge content creators a higher price to deliver content to me. Fees go up.
6) Comcast promotes their own content and delivery service and gives me access to it for a much lower cost but if I choose to use the other service they throttle my speed or make me pay more money.

I feel like i'm taking crazy pills when Trumpkins try to defend this nonsense

I think you can be reasoned with Parmen because I think you have substantially improved from being a CptBengal to not being close to him.

Now the internet is a free speech platform that is 100% essential to functioning in the modern world. You may disagree with poor people, but they should have their First Amendment rights? This is a free speech issue as a whole. At least consider this.
