$100,000
$56,000 of which was spent AFTER the election
Which leaves $44K

Surely, they focused that money on crucial swings states like Michigan and Wisconsin?

Nope! Spent money in New York, Cali, etc...

So, the left's contention is that for $22,000, Muh Russians overcame Hillary's billion dollar campaign and flipped the race to Trump

So 100k is massive?

These freakin loons. Like anyone with half a brain has forgotten that Hillary ran the most expensive campaign im us history.

If the russians are that effecient in bamg for your buck in political campaigns, everyone needs to start just straight up hiring them to run their campaigns

Remember when Hillary literally colluded with the DNC to rig their primary?

Wasn't this the same amount spent on Google ads? And if I recall correctly, that money got divvied up between Trump, Sanders and Stein. So the Russians really broke the bank to influence an election.

I think the (significantly) more concerning aspects are paid operatives, bot armies, and the taking over of existing accounts once the original creator stops using it.

The idea that Russia 'hacked the election' or that they stole it from Clinton is flat out nonsense. But the fact that they are extensively engaging in (and ramping up activities as part of) a covert information war is something worth being aware of.

Straight from the horse's mouth:
quote:

“You think we are living in 2016. No, we are living in 1948. And do you know why? Because in 1949, the Soviet Union had its first atomic bomb test."

I mean. I agree but Facebook ads are a cheap way to start a movement. It's a bit naive to compare the cost of Facebook ads and their influence to traditional political advertising and its influence. Two very different animals.

According to Facebook $100k in ads will target 25 million people....25 million demographically targeted individuals.....I don't know what if anything it did for the elections but tha is damned impressive....it cost what, $7.5 million in postage alone to reach that many people by mail? If they did do it and accomplished their goals we ought to hand them the tiller cause that shite is fricking genius......if the US government wanted to reach 25 million people it cost us a billion $

It's a shame the $1.3 billion HRC raised during the election was somehow unable to combat that $44K.
