My elderly mother just called me at 4:00 from her Senior Citizens Center/Assisted Living facility in La.. An AA teacher came to her door today and asked if she needed a ride to the polls to vote Democrat for Landrieu. She said no. He then asked her if she would vote absentee right now so he could turn it in. He had a pre-voted Democrat ballot. She said no, she and her sister and niece were going to go vote after work after 5:00. He asked again, pretty strong, to accept a ride or sign a ballot of his. She said no. He left and knocked on the next door. Mother looked out and saw 2 white gov't vans parked close to the front sidewalk.

Why do they specify who to vote for? That seems very intrusive..I have no problem with them offering rides to the polls but my question would be, What would they do if she said she needs a ride, but is voting Republican?

Nobody should be allowed to deliver people to polls who is not a close relative or legal guardian.
Raiding old folks' homes to harvest their votes is just obscene. Typical DEM strategy = shameful

The first thing any 'community organization' does when they receive their government grant is buy a van.

vehemently disagree.
My grandmother cannot drive. her nursing home offers to take her to church, to the grocery store, to wal-mart, pretty much everywhere she needs to go. Why not the polls? What makes the polls more special than the church?
In the end, my mother actually drives her as my grandmother cannot stand getting on the bus.
But she has the option with the nursing home.
