It's Brat or a write-in candidate.

That's what I wasn't clear on.

I heard something about the Dems agreeing on a candidate but that he may have missed the filing deadline. So I guess they have to write him in.

Honestly the Tea Party should have been taken out back and shot a long time ago. They've single handedly destroyed the Republican Party and turned it into the clusterfrick we know today.

Good I don't want the Tea Party to completely take over the GOP, but knocking off the majority leader will hopefully make the others get a spine and tell the dems no

This is the guy, Mike Dickenson, that will be the Dem's candidate in the race...

The Dems waived their chance to have anyone on the ballot in November. It's Brat or a write-in candidate.

And you would be wrong. Jack Trammell, a professor at the same colle Brat teaches, is the Dem nominee.

Another interesting factoid... With the demise of Cantor, there will be no Jewish Rep incumbents on the ballot in November.

No sitting House Majority Leader has lost since 1899.

Apparently not as much as Republicans. It'll be harder to find a Jewish incumbent on the Republican ballot fir the house than finding a liberal tranny in SEC Crazy's bed.

Sort of interesting that the Democratic candidate is also a professor at Randolph-Macon. Good PR for that school.

It was Mike Dickinson and he failed to file in time, so the Dems in that CD canceled their convention to pick a candidate.

I am stunned, but very pleased, by this turn of events. Cantor never struck me as a heavy-weight, and I always had a sense that he was somewhat of an opportunist and was arrogant beyond his abilities. His recent comments about immigration conveyed an unnecessary "hurry up" approach that got him in trouble. To bargain with Obama over the issue of immigration prior to the November elections means that the Republicans would be bargaining from a relative weak position. The Republicans should wait to see if and when they win the Senate to be in a stronger bargaining position on immigration.

Establishment R's destroyed the R Party by grabbing their ankles for the likes of Reid and Obama. Coupled with the fact that they are equal to what the Dem's were 20 yrs ago. They moved left over the past 2 decades. The "tea party" is just a righting of the ship and seems extreme, because they've (Establishment R's) moved so far away from Conservatism.

Sometimes there's something to be said for clusterfrickery.

Truth. Today's establishment Republicans would have made fine Clinton Democrats.
