Well, shite.

Turkey's long-standing leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won the country's presidential poll in the first round, the election authority chief says.
Sadi Guven said the president "received the absolute majority of all valid votes", but gave no further details.
State media reports put Mr Erdogan on 53% with 99% of votes counted, and his closest rival Muharrem Ince on 31%.
The opposition is yet to officially concede but said it would continue its democratic fight "whatever the result".

It's time for NATO to tell Turkey adios.

Or for the US to tell NATO adios.

Then Russia just swoops in.
Turkey is vitally important geographically should a war ever break out in the ME.

He tells CNN what content to be broadcasted in Turkey. He controls the narrative there.

Widespread Election Fraud
Will be interesting to see whether or not Turkish citizens sit back and accept this.

Maybe not so quick on that. Wasnt there some major tensions a year or so ago between those 2 because Turkey shot down a Russian fighter jet that crossed over into their airspace from Syria

I hope they riot in the streets.

Perhaps, Ankara is playing both of us right now. Looking to squeeze each of us for as much as she can get.
If we step away, the Turks lose their leverage against Russia. And Russia’s a threat.
Of the twelve wars they’ve fought, the Turks have won three?

It was premeditated too, the Turks were waiting, probably for weeks, for a Russian aircraft to stray.
And the ambassador was assassinated right around the same time.
Moscow is really ruthless though, and while they punished Turkey, they were more interested in pulling Turkey into their orbit.

I would think you Trumpkins would be happy. You like authoritarians who use nationalism and religion to keep power.
Posted on 6/24/18 at 9:31 pm to Ralph_Wiggum
And Trump is the first president in a generation to limit federal and presidential power.
So how does that work?
