He didn't run to Russia. He had a layover in Moscow and his passport was revoked. Because of the US government, he is stuck in Russia.

He has not faced the full consequences of his actions because he knows his constitutional rights will not be protected. He won't get a fair trial.

He happened to be stuck in Russia while he was running.

Traitor, and I don't see how anyone can say otherwise.

All the evidence you need is look who he ran too.

He was running to Ecuador. His passport was revoked during his layover in Moscow. You can't leave a country without a valid passport.

So the federal government betrays the entire population of the US illegally and secretly...

And he betrays the federal government by telling the people they are betraying they were betrayed.

So...is America our government and institutions or is America the people?

Therein lies whether he is a traitor to America...because he certainly is a traitor to the government.

He's not perfect but I'd like to see him pardoned. He did good regardless of the law which is ethical development level 3

So you actually believe most of that BS he is spewing?

I have friends in the intel community and they're some of the most patriotic people I know. You honestly think that the NSA is full of a bunch of Americans spying on other Americans?

This isn't "The Lives of Others"

Also, the guy had a security clearance and directly violated his clearance. Not to mention he spilled every secret he had to the FSB.

I think the NSA is collecting data on millions of Americans. They may not be spying, but they are putting us all into a database. I believe the director of the NSA lied to congress and to America.

What do you mean putting us all into a database? We are already in hundreds of databases. Social Security, local/state/federal government, passports, property taxes, cell phones, google, facebook, etc. Everything you do on a computer is automatically logged and tracked (hence the fine print when you sign up).

When? What did he say?

Look man, I'm obviously on your side of the issue when it comes to preserving the integrity of the 4th amendment, but this notion that the NSA is the "American Stasi" is insanity.

The director of the NSA told Congress they weren't collecting data on millions of Americans. We know this is a lie.

Putting all our information into a centralized indexed database makes it easier for tyranny to exist.

How do we know it's a lie? Is your source Snowden?

About 100 years too late on this one. Every man/woman/child and all of their information exists in some 20+ databases in the federal government alone. Don't even get me started on consumer databases.

I work in bigdata. Remember when you signed up for that debit or credit card and you filled out all that personal info? That's stored. Did you know that you signed a release that all of your purchase information can be stored and sold to the highest bidder? I can easily purchase these lists and look at your consumer habits of everything youve ever purchased.

Scary times man - nobody reads the fine print. Unless you are willing to move to bum frick Alaska and drop off the grid - you're being tracked.

Key words: centralized indexed database

Do you think Snowden was wrong there? Is the NSA not collecting data on us? Of Snowden's goal was to bring down the US, he could have done a lot more damage than he did. His goal was to expose the truth.
