quote:Very reasonable.
Definitely the former.
quote:You're right. The problem is, just like criminal investigations, the evidence appears to be collected to only confirm a theory rather than the evidence informing a theory and being tested it on either side.
The task remains to find out exactly who is engaged in it.
quote:It's disturbing, but obviously that makes it harder to ignore.
I don't like this rabbit hole but I can't get out
The problem is that, like with most exteme and sensationalistic events, we are prone to relying on the availability heuristic to form our judgements and then we overrate how frequent and prevailing something is (like plane crashes; suicide attacks; and crime in general).
For example, because a couple social conservative politicians who were strongly against homosexuality, were actual homosexuals themsleves, people seem to think many of the other social conservative politicians are gay themsleves. I think that is a good comparison for this topic.
quote:That's awesome. But seriously, even if not a primary "job" there are many ways to advocate for children. And on a related note, the "social justice warrior" mentality had rightfully been criticized; however, I've met some amazing social workers who show (not unlike Jesuits) that real "social justice" can be great and is nothing like the SJWers and their attention-seeking.
It's seriously making me think about doing child advocacy

quote:I hope you haven't watched the first season of True Detective. Woody Harrelson's character does something much more disturbing than what is implied in that picture.
That...is disturbing. I've seen the first picture but not the second. What's the source on that? Do we have a name?
And now that I think about it, that season is basically about a "pizzagate" like investigation (cults, political corruption, human sacrifice, sex trafficking, etc).

It's been a few years, I can't recall what Woody's character does.

Second only to Eyes Wide Shut.

So the guy names his club L'Enfant (the child). And has shirts printed up that say I 'Heart' L'Enfant (I love the child)? And hes standing arm & arm with a proven pedo, and in another pic with a suspected one?

Am I missing something? A Dutch dude and two Cambodians raped a kid. Ok, shoot em. But there is a picture of two guys who own restaurants posing for a picture. How does that have anything to do with a Dutch guy and two Cambodians?
By the way, the pizza place is just a pizza place. Remember, a dude with a long gun searched it the other day and found out it was just a pizza place.

shite, now I remember. Fooling around on his fine-arse wife.
Off-topic but germaine to this exchange: was the season finale as unsatisfying for everyone else as it was for me? I want answers on that fricking cult.

Maybe this goes back the 1790's. Maybe the L'Enfant Plan was actually a plan to design secret dungeons for this cult. Our Founding Fathers could be implicated too.

Holy shite. We need to get this over to the sleuths at 4chan so they can look into this further. Good work man.

*Note: I didn't want to use "satisfying" given the topic of this thread.
