Well, now that we finally have some statistics, the "immigrants commit less crime than native born" narrative falls apart.
188,000 federal inmates.
45,554 are immigrants (legal and illegal)
22% of our entire prison pop at the federal level are immigrants.
13% of the current US population is immigrant (non-citizen).
Welp, what's next?

The Department of Justice Tuesday released its first set of data on the incarceration rates of undocumented immigrants ordered by President Trump in an effort to build a case for more aggressive enforcement of immigration laws.
Of the 45,493 foreign-born inmates in the federal prison system made up of 188,658 inmates, the Justice Department said 3,939 are U.S. citizens.
According to the agency data, immigration orders have been issued for 54.2 percent - about 22,541 - of the remaining 41,554 incarcerated immigrants. Another 33.4 percent, about 13,886 inmates, are under investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for possible removal.

Some are, presumably, good people.

Those stats are racist and xenophobic and I won't accept them.
Maybe if they had two scoops of ice cream I would be upset.

Laying the PR groundwork for throwing these heathen back over a very 'tall' fence, and letting Mexico deal with em'. Putting Dems on the chopping block if they vote against policy to deport felons. Trump doing what we elected him for.

Those statistics are sickening. Though I may not agree with all the particular policies or methods, I fully support Trumps effort to get this shite under control.

Build the wall and then throw them out

But Mexico won't let men piss in the womens' outhouse. We can't send them back to such atrocities.

I think you need to differentiate between prisoners who were illegal immigrants before their crimes and ones we arrested who were either never here or here legally.

Trumpkins are so clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Key word in that phrase.

theyve committed no crime other than that.
Well how many crimes does it take? You're saying if my criminal background is a big fat 0 then I shouldn't be in jail for shooting someone?
Illegal is illegal. Crime is crime.

OP, are you trolling? Illegals make up almost a quarter of the total federal inmate population... Build the wall already

Those stats are getting closer to the truth, but to be fair, a large percentage of the immigrant's incarcerated in the federal system are charged with illegal re-entry, often after having committed misdemeanors on the state level (but not always). When we talk about the criminality of a population, we generally assume we are talking about felonies and serious misdemeanors, not just traffic offenses or minor offenses.

If you ever find yourself in court for a traffic violation in the future, I want you to contest and tell the judge " but I didn't commit any crimes other than that", and let us know how it works out for you.
