Could be as bad as a sternly worded memo.

why should one not be just a little skeptical that this "filter team", the FBI/DOJ and some magistrate or judge would not be high-fiving after hours at the local watering hole?
Nothing wrong with skepticism about whether the processes have been followed. My problem is with the posters asserting that the underlying processes themselves were somehow irregular.

Is it regular to raid a former president's home?

So they had a filter team review the documents in question, pursuant to the terms of the warrant itself, in order to avoid appointment of a special master … who had not yet even been requested by the time they completed the filter review?

Yes, because no one could have possibly foreseen that Trump would file such a motion. Just totally unheard of!

You'd be okay with an opposing attorney having an internal 'filter team' review your clients privileged documents?

Hank doesn't have time for clients as he spends every waking moment on this board.

Just out of curiosity can you link to something of the “filter” team. Looking through the DOJ and fbi stuff I can’t really find it.

Here is something from the ABA. The article is critical of the process.

Yes, that is the PURPOSE of a filter/taint team.

So you think it is fine for attorney/client documents to be seized and reviewed by the government based upon a warrant with broad limits on areas that can be searched?

They raided one of his lawyers and no one batted an eye. Do you think these loons actually care about attorney client privilege or executive privilege.

Interesting theory to say the least.

That is a different question, versus the assertions/complaints of the OP, to the effect that the FBI/DoJ behaved improperly by following an established procedure.

Yes, there are potential problems/abuses associated with the use of filter teams. It is a balancing issue. In most cases, I think the system probably works reasonably-well. There just is not much incentive for a member of the filter team to ignore his sworn duties/obligations.

In this case, I think appointment of a special master is appropriate, as I have been arguing for several days.

If I had been advising the FBI prior to seeking the warrant, I think that I probably would have suggested that they request a special master rather than a filter team at the time they sought the warrant, because of the politically-sensitive nature of the investigation.

Like it or not, the DoJ and the FBI are not just “opponents” in the adversary system, they are tasked with doing justice.

Does that task include fabricating evidence to submit to a FISA court to spy on a president???

This is the ultimate the FBI is a Dem enforcment arm proof that anyone with a brain can see.

They also had a Lawyer change the wording of an email to go after someone in Trumps orbit.

These people are nothing more than criminal thugs posing at law enforcement.
