The dumbasses have been yelling "Repeal Obamacare!" for 7 years now, which means they also had 7 years to come up with an alternative. Yet, seems to me like they had to scramble nust to come up w/something that most conservatives don't even like. What a joke!

PS - I'm an Independent btw, so save your comments about me trusting the GOP. I never have. That's one more reason why I lime Trump, because he's the closest thing to a 3rd Party President we've ever had.

Although, Trump is going to get burned if he continues to trust Rino Ryan too much.

Yes, they just never figured on actually getting the chance so they didn't prepare for the day

No, just like they never wanted to actually do anything about abortion, it's too valuable a campaign tool. They're now the dog that has caught the car...

Some senators do not have their heads up their asses. Those ones live in states that are nearly even. Some house members are required to please the rabble of either party. Therefore, the House and Senate could not agree on something if you gave them forever. Imagine what would have had to happen. McConnell would have had to sit down with Ryan and come up with something with their names on it. They want no part of this legacy. Most members of Congress were not thinking about this day. Just getting reelected by appealing to the rabble of their region.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure that the GOP is going to rape us all. and right soon.
The currently floated bill gives health insurance CEO's tons of money in the form of new IRS deductions so they can take money out of the US Treasury and give themselves bonuses.

They did until 2012 when Romney's loss meant Obamacare would actually start taking effect.

Trump is in hard sell mode on this bill. He loves it.

If Clinton had won they would have already voted on a full repeal and replacement plan. Because they know it would be vetoed.

Politicians have always been self serving. That's what you get when you have no term limits. They are always going to let polls and public opinion dictate how they legislate.

Yes, but unlike the democrats, the GOP is not monolithic. Some want a modest repeal and some want full resection.

Politically, it's dicey. The House is up for election every two years. The question is, would it cost Republicans the House in Trump's first mid-term? Apparently they have come to the conclusion that the answer is "yes."

Some do and some don't.

There are more than a few who had their plans to continue coasting along getting cover from a dem president disrupted.

Which tells you they basically think they're constituents are idiots who won't really care what the new bill looks like, just that they got rid of something tied to Obama...and sadly, for the most part they're right

What they want most is to be reelected. They know if 1,000's of their constituents lose healthcare, which will happen under the "Trumpdontcare" plan, they are likely getting voting out.

They did in 2012. Now they're probably too scared of losing the popular (expensive) provisions
