The sad truth is that healthcare is not a right. You shouldn't be able to demand that the government provide you with healthcare any more than the government should force a doctor to provide you with their services.

Politicians don't want to say that. And people don't want to hear it.

Long ago the govt decided they could take money from citizens and hand it out to other citizens as "benefits". Healthcare was one of the benefits they chose to give out to buy votes.

What happened to buying insurance across state lines? How do plans get cheaper if you are keeping can't get turned down for pre-existing conditions but not forcing healthy young people to buy insurance? I have heard of nothing that will drive down cost at the hospital or pharmacy level. The roll back of Medicaid expansion is probably a political mistake for the GOP. I don't know how this plan makes Republicans look good in 2018

Am I missing something?

Trump loves the bill and during and shortly after the campaign he basically said he was offering up his version of Obamacare. Tah-dah!
