Barry was a part-time adjunct faculty member. Hardly qualifies him as a constitutional law scholar anymore than any of us that have graduated law school and passed the bar.

The Harvard degree may impress you, but not me. Dealt with plenty of Ivy League professionals in my career. Not impressed by many. Certainly not impressed by Barry's interpretation of the Constitution, law in general, or, his beliefs as to " who we are" as a country.

And I couldn't care less if you voted for him or not. Trump is far more qualified to run the country than Obama was at any stage of his campaigns or presidency. Period

The Feds shouldn't be in the student loan business.

I regret that I have but one up vote to give.

The exploding rise of college cost are directly related to two things both of which are government caused.

Pell Grants and guaranteed student loans.

I don't know anything about this person's qualifications, but working for a student loan company wouldn't be a disqualified.

Anyone hired would be from a banking or lending background, and anyone hired from the private sector would have potential conflicts.

Those conflicts will just have to be examined. Would rather this than a career beurocrat or teachers union idiot.

Because you say so? Sorry, your framing doesn't really cut it for me.

I didn't frame anything, I simply stated qualifications.

Well, who else would be qualified to do that!?

That would be like hiring someone who's actually worked on a dangerous jobsite before to be the head of OSHA!!!

Good god. Facts are facts. You may interpret them as you wish.

Constitutional law professor,

He was an adjunct lecturer, not a professor. Professors make actual contributions to their field's body of knowledge. Care to link to his publications in scholarly journals?

Fixed. Total of four years in the Senate, two of them spent on the campaign trail.

I'm generally MAGA, but I will concede to my libtard relatives that I am not proud of two things: DeVos or the Syria bombing. But, I will say that if you don't support a federal department of education or just think public schools in general need an overhaul, a west Michigan Dutch Reformed Amway mafia dunce might just be the perfect agent of change.

Well he wasn't a constitutional law professor or a 3 term senator, so those facts are rubbish.

UC Law School statement: The Law School has received many media requests about Barack Obama, especially about his status as "Senior Lecturer." From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama served as a professor in the Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors, although not full-time or tenure-track. The title of Senior Lecturer is distinct from the title of Lecturer, which signifies adjunct status. Like Obama, each of the Law School’s Senior Lecturers have high-demand careers in politics or public service, which prevent full-time teaching. Several times during his 12 years as a professor in the Law School, Obama was invited to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position, but he declined.

Semantic arguments are the best arguments. Is your argument against the three terms also "he was campaigning so it doesn't count"?
