Interesting. I'd be willing to bet only one of us is completely reliant on information from the media.
Oh man. Didn't know we had a high level top secret intel guy in here.

Well none is taking place now because anyone with a lick of sense would just as soon conclude that he’s more likely a foreign agent than a civil and privacy rights activist.
Yes. Thats the reason. I am sure it has nothing to do with the desire of many governments to see him dead or imprisoned for life.
Its entertaining you think he ran because he couldnt win an argument over the merits of his case.
Are you so naive as to think the govt cant imprison anyone but the deserving?

Those two filibuster all of these threads. It's really pathetic at this point

How would you define “surveilled?” Bunch or metadata being sucked up that would be set aside or discarded as useless the moment it became clear there was no nexus to foreign adversary activities?
Yes, I know I'm not doing anything wrong, not involved with foreign entities that could want to watch this country crash and burn. So they should not be looking in my shite without warrants and without probable cause period. It's why we have a fourth amendment. And the government grossly overstepped that, they deserved that egg in their face, trying to thwart Russia or not, it doesn't involve surveilling the country.

First, of course the government has imprisoned the undeserving and will do so again. Agents of the government have also shot the undeserving, of course.
Second, Snowden is not the undeserving. He’s guilty of every accusation being leveled in earnest. Probably more.
Third, the point wasn’t that he stood a chance of evading the consequences of his actions if he remained. The point was that, like so many patriots and civil rights activists and abolitionists etc going back to the founding, if he really cared about maximizing the effect of his message, he would have chosen to stay and fight the good fight. Since he didn’t, and in fact found his way into the arms of the United States’ chief strategic adversary—which happens to be ruled by a corrupt and abusive regime that makes our government look downright benevolent—I can only conclude that his motives were anything but noble.
