It's funny, Schumer actually voted for Gorsuch for the Appellate court.
This is pure, 100% Democrat obstructionism. Stopping Gorsuch only because "Trump". They are now going to get Nuked. Serves em right.

What dem nominee would be an independent check on a democrat President. The democrat on the court are by far the most partisan. They don't even care their opinion is stupid such as the same sex marriage decision.

Pretty short sighted. Tainted or not his rulings will carry the full weight of the USSC. Now the next justice (if the Rs go nuke) can be as extreme right wing as they want. Then looking at the demographics of the court it could be a long time before a D is in the WH and replaces any judge.

Look, if Gorsuch wants the entire apparatus of the Left knocking on the door of his home where his wife resides at odd hours, he should trek on. The Left will use tactics of physical confrontation, if necessary.

The Dems are locked in to the this "all out destroy Trump" strategy now. I see no way for them to stop now -- for pete's sake, they have actual sitting federal judges willing to put their LEGAL reputations at stake in blocking Trump with no real legal basis to do so. These guys are committed ideologues, and they are engaged in Ideological Warfare.

Yes, I like your view better. I despise the Democrats. I was simply painting a picture of a "worst case scenario" for my side.
Democrats are despicable and their ways of conducting politics are, IMHO, placing the USA on the path to authoritarian rule by One Party -- a Leftist party.
So, I see this all out attack to Oust the Orange Outsider as a threat to this Republic. If Trump can be destroyed, no other POTUS will dare try to Drain the Swamp and restore Power to the People. THEN, it won't matter WHO we elect as POTUS because FedGov will always be growing, spending more, taxing more and consolidating more power in Wash DC.

If the Dems hold to this threat, it's completely understandable that the Republicans go nuclear. But it's not like it won't come without consequences in the short or long term.

That's exactly the correct Realpolitik strategy, IMHO, and the one that Democrats are completely committed. Of course, the "dark cloud" will never be "cleared" from "hovering over the White House" until a Leftist Democrat is once again POTUS. The mass media, Hollywood, journalists, academia, music artists, comedians, kindergarten teachers, Democrats in powerful positions all over FedGov, and Soros will make certain that the "dark cloud" never disperses.
It's a powerful Realpolitik strategy that might work. It will be the end of the USA as we know it, but, it might work.
PS I had to downvote you, Toddy, because the recent gains in the law granting more rights to the LGBLT community are supported by Trump, but, your hatred of him and everything about him has not moderated one bit.
