How to beat Vitter?? Run a good republican. Dardenne is wishy washy. Strain could beat him but is obligated to him.

If I were running a campaign against him I would send a mailer to every registered republican with these simple words:

"Who paid for Senator Vitter's prostitutes?"

You would not only be reminding them of his sexual exploits, but you would also bring to question just who financed them. Did he use campaign donations? public expense accounts? lobbyist or other special interest money?

No question he is a big ole hypocrite that thinks we are all stupid.

John Bell Edwards is a happy man today. The only way a democrat can get elected to run a well financed campaign against a guy like Vitter.

They read it on the internet, so it had to be true dammit!

Yeah, I have yet for one person to show me a legit source verifying the diaper story. I've even promised them I would never pull a lever for Vitter again, even if against a leftist, if they could give me such verification on the story.

But none. NADA. Zip. In fact, one of the lefty blogs that pushed the rumor links to a NOLA.com article where one of the NOLA prostitutes even states that Vitter was not weird or have any strange requests.

So you support a man who lied to his family, cheated on his wife, and had sex with prostitues. You think he's a good leader for the State? But you wont vote for him if diapers were involved?

Wow, La. truly deserves the leaders it gets. Its no wonder the La. is in the state it is in. Voters who hole their leaders to no standards get what they deserve.

Where did I state I support him now?

But yes, if there was validation to the diaper thing, it would keep me from ever considering to vote for him for anything! Why? Because let's be honest here. If you've got some real yearning to constantly be dressed in a diaper for sex, you are way too nutty for me to want you in elected office.

That's just my personal opinion. Many may disagree with that, but good thing I, by myself, don't control election results.

Fair enough. My post was a bit of an over reaction.

But for the hooker scandal, I certainly see no problem with him. So if that's the only issue, what about other politicos with similar baggage? Let's at least be consistent.

I'll bet many of those that attack Vitter on that issue probably still talk about the good ole days of the Kennedy's, Clinton and Edwin Edwards.

I am. Personal integrity counts for a lot, in my opinion. He has none.

I'll say this about David Vitter, he'd likely make himself more accessible to local and state media than Jindal has.

Well he certainly let everyone down and significantly damaged his integrity with his actions but we're now about 12 years past. Is he done for life in your book?

Another fair point. I would honestly have to think about it some more before I pulled the lever.

I may support and vote for Vitter purely for fun.

He will be a divisive, grand standing MACHINE. His first order of business will probably be something like the AZ immigration laws, banning IVF, or posting a list of everyone on welfare or some shite like that.

That's cool. But remember that the next time you bitch about the public ignoring shady actions of politicians and electing people you think are flawed based on obvious past failures. Then, you're just a hypocrite.
