(CNN)The Army will not approve an easement that would allow the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline to cross under Lake Oahe in North Dakota, the Army's assistant secretary for civil works announced
Sunday.

North Dakota's sole member in the House of Representatives, Rep. Kevin Cramer, a Republican, expressed his disapproval in a scathing statement released Sunday that slammed President Barack Obama as well as the protestors.

"I hoped even a lawless president wouldn't continue to ignore the rule of law. However, it was becoming increasingly clear he was punting this issue down the road," Cramer wrote. "Today's unfortunate decision sends a very chilling signal to others who want to build infrastructure in this country. Roads, bridges, transmission lines, pipelines, wind farms and water lines will be very difficult, if not impossible, to build when criminal behavior is rewarded this way."

This will only encourage these shitheads. Expect these assholes to show up for every major fossil fuel project from now on.

Thanks Obama.

I'd say I hope they sue the corp for wasting their money but it's the tax payers that will be screwed. And people wonder why our economy is stalled. America once was a place for business because the rule of law mattered. Hope it returns.

Let them freeze! Think it's going to get around -20F later this week. Natives might be OK. The snowflakes, they will be snowballs.

Donald Trump has said he endorses the Dakota Access Pipeline, although this decision won’t be easy for him to overturn when he enters the White House in January. “If one agency makes detailed fact findings about how a project is not in the public interest, the next administration can’t just come in and rip it up right away,” explained Jan Hasselman, an attorney at Earthjustice who is representing the Standing Rock Sioux in their federal lawsuit against the pipeline. “They could seek to undo it, but it would be subject to judicial review.”

What are the facts? Are they saying pipelines aren't allowed to travel through lakes and rivers?

ETA: and if they need facts, how can they reverse their previous decision? This is BS.

Radical environmentalist and feminist who don't have a clue about the project, or how the native community cares less about the pipeline than you do.

Pipelines >>> Trucks and trains.
