It's a great way to cut costs! Anyone that wants "cheap" care will get exactly what they deserve.

It's stupefying that people argue healthcare is vital life-or-death imperative, while arguing simultaneously arguing it should be cheap.

Valuable things are never cheap. Expecting the opposite is to engage in magical thinking.

Not to mention that there is not a single nation on earth that can provide any healthcare at anytime to anyone that wants it. You either ration by price or you ration by government decision.

The healthcare debate begins and ends with this statement.

There are least 3 plans. Rep Tom Price, a Doctor of GA., being one of them.

So, it's your contention that presently, without single payer, only the rich are receiving care?

A lot of people don't go to the doctor when sick because of the costs.
A lot of people have to choose between the doctor or gas in the fuel tank to get to work.

Everyone can get care. (as long as they go to an ER and tie up the Trauma staff)

Costs have been relatively flat. Even declining in many cases (see self-pay specialties like plastics any option) Prices are what is rising.

Which is why I am against the current for profit system of healthcare. It should not be a business to trat the sick and save lives. We are the best nation in the world*

*except when it comes to healthcare access
Paid leave
maternity leave
retirement age

Hell, I would rather cut back the military and not have troops around the world and have healthcare for all, than to have 35-40% of my taxes got towards protecting oil fields, and puppet sandbox governments.

Healthcare is a commodity subject to supply and demand - just like everything else. Socialized medicine increases demand drastically while stagnating supply resulting in an inferior service.

This is a tired and false debate tactic used to discredit socialized medicine. It's just not true.
