Sounds like Trump raped him or at least sexually harassed him. Bring on the investigation

This stuff is just ridiculous and needs to go away. Comey has shilled for the Dems and Clintons for years now. He has no "neutrality" in any of this from the HRC investigation to the Russian collusion deal.

This bs with sending out his friends to put forth his position is ridiculous. If the 6'8" little bitch thought he was being cooerced by Trump, he had a legal obligation to disclose it. I am sure that will be washed away by the kind and MSM.

This thread is in part related to the Comey question I was asking you yesterday.

Comey seems to have had a weird perception of himself and others. He felt he could carry on revealing conversations with journalists, but shun similar contact with the President. He had little apparent interest in shutting down classified leaks, and may have even been a source himself.

He aggressively pushed for conclusion to the HRC investigation, but refused even so much as publicly validating that Trump was not personally under FBI investigation. He willingly usurped the AG's role in July sullying the FBI in the process, yet claimed to stand for a "wall" between the Executive Branch and FBI.

While, he emphasized strict independence of the Bureau, he himself had multiple direct and personal conversations with FBI officials when he was at the WH and his friend Mueller was FBI Director.

I hope Mueller can set his long-standing relationship with Comey aside, and clarify for Americans what the FBI Director's role should actually be. Specifically I hope he points out the multitude of problems that Comey's July behavior created for the FBI.

Thoughts?
I've opined that Comey should have been fired at least three times prior to last Tuesday--the July press conference, the October letter, and the day Trump took office (in case Obama was reticent to seem vindictive over what was widely perceived as actions damaging to his party). Obviously the guy was faced with some unique challenges investigating a high-profile person during a campaign for the presidency she was favored to win. But I doubt anyone ever told him that being FBI director was supposed to be easy or simple. I'm sure as with most situations he did a lot of good behind the scenes (our frickups tend to standout more) but in public his handling of this entire thing reads as incompetent, bordering on bizarre--if not worse. Obviously some review of the investigation that's taken place so far, including an examination into Comey and the FBI's decision-making throughout the Clinton investigation, is warranted as part of Mueller's probe.

Um, ask the media outlet that made it news would be my first inclination. Perhaps you could email the editor of the paper.

No concerns about objectivity with Mueller considering his "friendship" with Comey?

Would this fly in a regular court of law or would the prosecutor/counsel be required to recuse himself?

I'm tired of DC treating itself differently.

I don't know how close the two men are, but apparently they go back a ways. It would be tough to find someone qualified for the undertaking who did't at least know Comey in passing. Maybe there's confidence that Mueller's the most likely to be able to cut through any personal trinity (or animosity).

yeah, I read the Comey's Friend and admitted leaker to the NYTimes--lawblog article this morning. He also says Comey didn't tell him to leak He is defending the Sainted Comey

Who in their right mind believes this self-aggregating batman good ole guy Comey BS?

Comey wore a tie that he knew would blend into the White House drapes, so POTUS wouldn't know he was there and say anything.

It is also clear reading this trifling load of crap, that Comey is an Obama fan.

What kind of shitty friend tells the entire world a story so embarrassing? If we assumed this was true (which is a huge assumption) then this guy is willing to throw his "friend" under the bus and expose him as a straight up awkward coward just so that Trump might, maybe, possibly look just a little bit worse in the press?

Either this story is pure bullshite or the Brookings Institute employs some real shitty folks.

With cognitively impaired dem liberal glasses on reading the article...they actually think Comey is this Saint with no bias, perfect nerd FBI by the book guy. We all know they both schmoozed each other. Comey wanted to keep tenure.

The truth of the matter is: whereas a hug from POTUS to FBI Director in the PC bloated DC swamp is not the norm (they all do schmoozing behind doors) Trump is gonna Trump and be outright and blunt. And he is a huggy type of guy that in no way knows that was inapropriate in any way- and or he doesn't care. Comey probably did try to 'train' and 'school' the Trump admin; as they are all green, but nothing nefarious really happened.

There are stories of Obama's cabinet being green as well but Obama was a DC insider lawyer. He knows the outward-only BS DC protocol.

They all schmooze. Obama appointed Comey because he knew he had him in his hip pocket and Comey would kiss his ring. It's how things go in DC with appointments...

That didn't even approach hug status anyhow, it was a warm handshake is all. That is one tall weird SOB.
