It is very simple: Most Trump voters are NOT racist.
BUT...
Most white racists who voted, voted for Trump in 2016.
That was ONE factor that helped Trump win in 2016. Other factors included dislike for HRC, mistrust for the Clintons, and a small town-rural revolt in the Midwest against DC and coastal elites. Those are some of the reasons HRC lost the Electoral vote even though she won the popular vote.

And they voted for McCain and Romney as well. That's not a variable, that's a constant. Who gives a single frick about the constants that won't change no matter what you do?
The variables what is important. That's what you focus on. It's why you don't really see rallies out in Portland or Tulsa. It's pointless for the candidates to waste their time over there.

I could give Fareed the name of a Buddhist temple here in the deep south attended by 98% Vietnamese refugees and they could tell him personally why they overwhelmingly voted for Trump. Of course that would result in a level of cognitive dissonance that might be dangerous to his health and momentarily interrupt his narrative.

I was working with about 15 Hispanics on the border during the election. They all voted for Trump. My neighbor was a Mexican national that got his citizenship in the 80's. He was the biggest Trump fan I've met in person. He must've given me a dozen Trump stickers.

Well, from Fareed's pov, the USA was founded and grown into the greatest Nation in recorded history, because of "old White Racists and (Christian) Bigots. I guess that says something about White Men and Christianity.
