Kaboom. Art of the deal my friends.

quote:

A Chinese delegation will come to the U.S. this week for trade talks after President Donald Trump upended negotiations by threatening new tariffs on Sunday, according to sources familiar with the matter.

One of the sources briefed on the status of talks said the Chinese would send a smaller delegation than the 100-person group originally planned. It is unclear whether Vice Premier Liu He would still helm this smaller group, an important detail if the team were traveling to Washington with an eye toward sealing a deal. Two senior administration officials described Liu as “the closer,” since he had been given authority to negotiate on President Xi Jinping’s behalf.

The team from Beijing was set to start talks with American negotiators on Wednesday as the world’s two largest economies push for a trade agreement. It is unclear whether the talks will still start Wednesday

But but but my knock off jacket, with the zipper on the wrong side, from amazon is going to be a dollar more. Hope it doesnt cause it to be even longer to deliver.

Anyone against this approach against them is either directly benefiting from china getting a free pass, so a hypocrite. Or just plum dumb.

will make the talks more efficient.

I suspect there were some shenanigans by the Chinese when our people met with them last week and Trump decided to slap down any bullshite w/ the tariff tweet.

I think we will have a deal by the end of the week.

Ya gotta admit, they are between a rock and a hard place. They cant steal IP (which is the lions share of their growth) and they are going to get hammered by tariffs.

The gig is up, it was a nice run while it lasted.

The Chinese are setting a trap the higher the tariffs the more Americans pay . You cannot starve out the Chinese or hurt their economy nine dollars buys them eight meals, nine dollars in the US buys you a Burger King happy meal.

They consider Trump to be an idiot and the Republicans bigger idiots for following an idiot. All products will increase by twenty’s percent to the US Consumer.

China has made some concessions. This was always going to be a long term process. You don’t turn around billions of dollars in trade inequality in a short period

Serious question....when someone is a democrat, why doesnt news like this make you happy? Do you think they are coming here because they are happy with the way things are going over there?
Sure, i imagine many thought or hoped things would move quicker...but they are moving

So again, why wouldnt this be something you celebrate? Just because its a repubkican president?

So as a Democrat, youre approach is to leave things status quo?

And please teach us. why are they hurrying over before the weekend if the "idiot" isnt an issue?

There's nothing to be happy or sad about, really. President Trump is interested in reversing the trade deficit with China. In isolation, this is meaningless.

Now there are other issues with China. But that seems to be the primary goal.

Title is misleading. China is not coming “despite” tariffs. China is coming BECAUSE of the threat of tariffs. China knows the tariffs will destroy their economy, they’re coming to the table bc they have no other choice
