It's the same reason why non-citizens should not vote. If you aren't primarily impacted by the election (because you can pack up and go home at any time), why should you get a say in the course this country takes through the electoral process?

I've been saying that for a few years.

My restrictions wouldn't be too rigid though. i think a car note, for example, should be enough.

Well maybe not. I can't think of a way to word it that doesn't have loop holes or potential for cheating.

To get by the property owners resitriction dems/Soros would simply sell libtard voters a 1 square inch of land for a penny. Viola instant voter.

No. Now, if you own 4 slaves, then you get 5 votes.

Would love for him to explain why soldiers who don't buy a home bc they are relocated or housed by the military should be denied voting.

Why do so few understand the 3/5 compromise, even in jest?

What is defined as property?

Someone that has title to their property, if you are financing all you have is an ownership interest so no vote.

Has anyone looked to see who would have won if that were the rule?

Not so many people own their homes outright these days. That being said, I don't think a standard relegated to property ownership is good by itself. I would be supportive of broadened requirements that ensure voters have a vested interest in this country, though. Whether that is paying property taxes, paying more in taxes than are receiving in Welfare, or something else. Those who are only take from the country shouldn't be making decisions for those who give.

I'm not quite sure how you could determine that.

Percentage wise, it would be more detrimental to blacks and hispanics. But, it would knock one in four white voters out out of the process and common sense says that the biggest impact on whites would be to those who most strongly supported Trump - namely the white working class struggling in today's economy.

Based on the counties Trump won, those are property owners.

A lot of urban dwelling liberals aren't property owners either, though.

He must've read the NYT article on Bannon...the full quote:

quote:

He once suggested to a colleague that only property owners should be allowed to vote.

Suggested. Once. To a colleague.

The article is actually pretty fair and dispels some of the "racist" hysteria around Bannon. Here's the LINK.

Bannon is fricking legit

I say on all property tax only property owners decide. Why the hell should non property owners vote on taxing those that own property?

I'm not familiar with the midwest, but the rural south is littered with mobile home parks - especially Florida. I don't think leasing a pad and owning a home on wheels is what he he had in mind.
