The Taliban and now ISIS (thanks for both, Saudi Arabia) are still firmly entrenched and able to wreck havoc 16 years after our invasion of the country. This strict violent form of Islam can't be eliminated, only contained. These people are true believers. The Russians should be more concerned about Afghanistan than the USA because just north of the country are several countries that end with "stan" and ISIS has a stated goal of waging jihad on those countries and as well as Russia. Those "stan" countries are composed of 70-90% muslims.

Yep. If the US pulls out of Afghanistan, it forces Russia to use resources in that area. Let Russia waste their national treasure to control the wildlings in their area. We have our own wildlings to deal with, at least ours aren't muzzie fanatics
