Per today's presser..
There are only 9 million people who purchased obamascare. Therefore how can 14 million lose coverage who purchased it?

Yea, wasn't the white house counting them as obamacare enrollees all along?

I don't know what he's claiming CBO said, but this is their summary:
quote:
CBO and JCT estimate that, in 2018, 14 million more people would be uninsured under the legislation than under current law. Most of that increase would stem from repealing the penalties associated with the individual mandate.
They talk about nongroup & Medicaid changes taking additional effect later.
Posting this because I know OP wants clarity.

The other 5 will be on the losing end of the death panels.

There are a lot of people who don't think they need it and don't want it and don't want to pay the premiums for something they don't or can't use, so they will not be choosing to get coverage. That, however, is not "losing" coverage. That's opting out.

because they are counting the ones getting it through Medicaid for free paid for by government. they loose it and have to actually pay for it themselves now so CBO says they will loose coverage.
they also count the 10 million more forced to buy obamacare coverage through government exchanges as loosing coverage because they will buy cheaper policies direct from insurance companies now that obamacare doesn't control it.
they are also counting the millions of 20-35 year olds who simply "choose" to not buy any coverage at all because they are young and don't need it.
the press refuses to even mention the CBO statement saying it would reduce federal deficits by $337 billion from 2017 to 2026. most of this savings is because free healthcare paid for by the government was ended by this new version.
sadly there is still way too many who will continue getting free healthcare like all the immigrants they brought into this country who get full government benefit coverage for everything from housing to food to welfare.

per the CBO in March of 2010 they predicted 21 million would enroll in Obama care. We know now that less than 11 million actually enrolled.
Why should we believe that 14 million will lose their coverage. They weren't close in 2010, why should they be close now?

People still buy plans off the exchanges and on the individual market. The numbers hover around 9 million people. Those plans will also be subject to the new change in age ratings that will allow insurers to charge older customers more. There is also the repeal of mandatory coverage penalties for employers with 50 or more employees and the repeal of the penalty for individual coverage. Which could and would likely mean less companies offering coverage and at least some people not signing up for their employer program.

they can't reasonably be expected to have assumed that obama would be able to repeatedly delay the individual mandate, or that the supreme court would allow states to opt out of the medicaid expansion
they have to go with a certain set of assumptions, but at least those assumptions are explicit

Unless you are BamaAtl. Then it's both losing coverage and the Republicans simply trying to kill poor people.

My family purchased one policy and 4 are covered under that one policy.
Seems like easy math. Not everyone with those 9 million policies will drop insurance all together.
Also people who are over the age of 63 will also drop coverage when their ins. goes up.

Note how many people were Enrolled in 2010 and how many were enrolled 2016.
There is your answer and you are correct. They didn't buy it.
