To be clear, there is nothing coincidental about this breaking now (and other events that are meant to distract)

All eyes should be on Huber next week (the media will attempt to drown this out in full force)

How the powerful protect Jeffrey Epstein

quote:

The cast of characters in the Epstein freak show is vast: President Trump's Labor Secretary Alex Acosta, Ken Starr, Alan Dershowitz, George Stephanopoulos, Katie Couric, Prince Andrew, and Chelsea Handler.

quote:

Most horrific in the reporting are not just Epstein's crimes, which have been public knowledge for a decade, but the level of the United States government's complicity in them.

quote:

Even after Epstein's crimes went public, Couric, Handler, Stephanopoulos, and fellow creep Woody Allen all had dinner at Epstein's homes. Time's Up, I guess. The Herald reports that despite former President Bill Clinton's and Trump's close friendships with Epstein, "there has been no evidence" that either "engaged in underage sex activities."

But it's worth asking, how could Clinton have never heard a single whisper of Epstein's crimes if he flew on Epstein's "Lolita Express" plane a grand total of 26 times, ditching his Secret Service detail on five occasions? Last year a woman claimed in a lawsuit that Epstein's sex trafficking ring recruited from Trump's estate, Mar-a-Lago.

quote:

Again, absolutely nothing has been proven about Trump or Clinton participating in or knowing about Epstein's crimes. But in the era of conspiracies as inane and pervasive as QAnon and anti-vaxxing, the greatest and most sinister one may be true. The powers that be, across the political spectrum, never let the public and the victims obtain justice.

From the OP

quote:

Acosta acknowledged to the media in 2011 that he came under extreme pressure from Epstein's high-powered defense team, which included legal heavyweights such as Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, former Whitewater independent counsel Kenneth Starr and Florida criminal defense attorney Roy Black. Acosta said Epstein's defense mounted "a yearlong assault on the prosecution and the prosecutors."

"I use the word assault intentionally, as the defense in this case was more aggressive than any which I, or the prosecutors in my office, had previously encountered," the former U.S. attorney wrote. He said his office stuck to its opening position in the case, but he also acknowledged that the ultimate punishment in the case may have been more lenient than Epstein deserved

I believe Acosta was threatened by very powerful forces...
The kind that causes you to kill yourself before you can testify (with things like barbells...)

Regarding Dershowitz (he is also in the news these days):

Trump boosts Alan Dershowitz as report alleges lawyer was involved in sexual encounters with minors

“I had sexual intercourse with Dershowitz . . . the first time was when I was about 16,” a court affidavit claims

quote:

Virginia Roberts, one of Epstein's accusers, claimed that she was "loaned" by Epstein to Dershowitz. The Herald notes that, in a 2015 court affidavit, Roberts wrote, "I had sexual intercourse with Dershowitz at least six times. The first time was when I was about 16, early on in my servitude to Epstein and it continued until I was 19." The trysts, she wrote, allegedly happened at Epstein's homes in Palm Beach, New Mexico and on Epstein's island in the Caribbean. Dershowitz has vehemently denied the accusations, telling the Herald that he never met Roberts and that he never saw Epstein with any underage girls.

quote:

During his tenure as Epstein's lawyer, Dershowitz was accused of attempting to undermine the case by hiring private investigators to gather background on the girls, their families and the police. According to the Herald, "Police reports show that Epstein's private investigators attempted to conduct interviews while posing as cops; that they picked through [Palm Beach Police Chief Michael] Reiter's trash in search of dirt to discredit him; and that the private investigators were accused of following the girls and their families. In one case, the father of one girl claimed he had been run off the road by a private investigator, police and court reports show."

A very interesting game is being played
Some of these characters have been placed in positions that require “light” to be shined on them...
Stay tuned to “see” how it all plays out...

Below is the root of the issue

It also underlies a huge component of the real issues involving:

The southern border
War/conflict (including organ trafficking)

Power, controlling people directly and indirectly...

The Trump administration is taking bold action to combat the evil of human trafficking

quote:

The International Labor Organization estimates that worldwide, nearly 25 million children and adults of all ages and backgrounds are victims of human trafficking, including forced labor and sex trafficking. Every government in the world has a moral obligation to do all in its power to stop these heinous crimes within its borders. That is why President Trump took strong action on Thursday to hold accountable those governments that have persistently failed to meet the minimum standards for combating human trafficking in their countries.

quote:

In his first month in office, the president said he was “prepared to bring the full force and weight of our government” to end human trafficking, and he signed an executive order directing federal law enforcement to prioritize dismantling the criminal organizations behind forced labor, sex trafficking, involuntary servitude and child exploitation

quote:

Following the president’s directive, the Justice Department secured a record 499 human trafficking convictions in fiscal 2017, a 14 percent increase over the previous year. The director of national intelligence elevated human trafficking to a top priority for the U.S. intelligence community. Despite a deeply polarized political climate, the Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act-Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act championed by the White House gained strong bipartisan support on Capitol Hill this year, and in April, the president signed into law this landmark legislation to fight online sex trafficking.

quote:

Last month, President Trump hosted at the White House the President’s Interagency Task Force to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons , marking the first time a president had participated in this meeting. More than 15 federal agencies, along with members of Congress, pledged to take additional action to address human trafficking.

quote:

The Trump administration is working on many other fronts in this effort. It has committed more than $45 million to the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, a public-private partnership that catalyzes global efforts to remove the economic incentives behind these horrific crimes. The administration is also moving to modernize data collection and analysis. Only with complete data and timely analysis can we identify criminal actors and provide comprehensive services to victims.

quote:

President Abraham Lincoln and the abolitionist movement gave America a unique inheritance: a principled commitment to fight slavery in all its pernicious forms. This administration is continuing the fight to end modern slavery and using every tool at its disposal to achieve that critical goal.

When it is all said and done, the scope of the “slavery” will be difficult to fathom...

We don't speak often. He doesn't talk about it and I don't press him. I can tell you that he was been deposed and at one point was threatened with charges of sex-trafficking for transporting underage girls.

Justice Department opens probe into Jeffrey Epstein plea deal
BY JULIE K. BROWN
FEBRUARY 06, 2019 04:19 PM

quote:

The Department of Justice has opened an investigation into Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta’s role in negotiating a controversial plea deal with a wealthy New York investor accused of molesting more than 100 underage girls in Palm Beach.

The probe is in response to a request by Sen. Ben Sasse, a Nebraska Republican and member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who was critical of the case following a series of stories in the Miami Herald. The Herald articles detailed how Acosta, then the U.S. attorney for Southern Florida, and other DOJ attorneys worked hand-in-hand with defense lawyers to cut a lenient plea deal with multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein in 2008. The Herald’s three-part series, Perversion of Justice, was cited by Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd in his letter to Sasse. DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility will head the investigation, he said.

“OPR has now opened an investigation into allegations that department attorneys may have committed professional misconduct in the manner in which the Epstein criminal matter was resolved,’’ wrote Boyd in the letter dated Wednesday.

quote:

The case has raised fundamental questions about whether well-connected, wealthy people wield influence over prosecutors and others in the justice system. Epstein had a wide circle of powerful friends, including Bill Clinton, President Donald Trump, Prince Andrew, lawyer Alan Dershowitz and a former prime minister of Israel, Ehud Barak.

quote:

The Office of Professional Responsibility, which acts much like a police department’s internal affairs division, is notoriously secretive with its probes, and they rarely become public, she said. But with Sasse and other lawmakers calling for the investigation, DOJ may be under pressure to be more transparent with its findings.

“It is a good sign that OPR’s letter to Senator Sasse indicates that it will share its results at the conclusion of the investigation, but those results will have to be viewed in the context of OPR’s limited powers,’’ she said, adding that OPR doesn’t have the power to subpoena witnesses.

Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department’s inspector general, has urged Congress to allow him to conduct a probe, noting that OPR’s investigations often shield prosecutors accused of wrongdoing.

Prosecutors broke law by not informing victims of Jeffrey Epstein plea bargain, judge rules
Samuel Chamberlain By Samuel Chamberlain | Fox News

quote:

A federal judge in Florida ruled Thursday that prosecutors -- including current Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta -- violated federal law when they reached a plea agreement in 2007 with financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and did not inform his dozens of victims. In a 33-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra wrote that prosecutors in the Southern District of Florida "mislead" Epstein's victims after negotiating the plea agreement by telling them "to be 'patient' while the investigation proceeded" and leading them to believe "that federal prosecution was still a possibility." However, Marra stopped short of short of invalidating the agreement, but asked prosecutors and victims' lawyers to recommend in 15 days how to move forward.

The judge wrote that evidence showed that Epstein "sexually abused more than 30 minor girls" between 1999 and 2007 "at his mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, and elsewhere in the United States and overseas." Epstein, Marra added, "used paid employees to find and bring minor girls to him [and] worked in concert with others to obtain minors not only for his own sexual gratification, but also for the sexual gratification of others."

Federal court moves to unseal documents in Jeffrey Epstein scandal

A federal court of appeals in New York on Monday took the first step in unsealing documents that could reveal evidence of an international sex trafficking operation allegedly run by multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein and his former partner, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell.

The three-judge panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit gave the parties until March 19 to establish good cause as to why they should remain sealed and, failing to do so, the summary judgment and supporting documents will be made public. The court reserved a ruling on the balance of the documents in the civil case, including discovery materials. “We’re grateful that the court ruled the summary judgment papers are open and they are moving to expedite having them unsealed,’’ said Sanford Bohrer, the attorney representing the Miami Herald, which filed the motion last year to have the entire case file opened. The Herald’s appeal is supported by 32 other media companies, including the New York Times and Washington Post. Just scanning quickly through this thread with some of the early posts; hadn't it been determined that there was some heavy equipment demolishing and filling in some of those under ground tunnels and rooms? I seem to remember that but not when it happened.

During a hearing Wednesday, Hafele made it clear that he doesn’t want the trial to become X-rated. When it comes to “graphic, sexual questions, the likelihood is that I will not allow them into evidence,” Hafele said.

Still, Hafele warned Edwards’ attorney, Jack Scarola, that he will limit what evidence can be used against Epstein, who now spends most of his time on his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. “I don’t want this to turn into whether Jeffrey Epstein is a serial child molester,” Hafele said.

Just getting around to reading this. Interesting, I know judge Hafele from court. He was very bothersome in my case and said some amazing things. He did apologize later but...I was flabbergasted at what he said. I was about to report him to the judicial bar.
