Keeping as close to the original intent of the Founding Fathers as possible. Decisions like Kelo , Wickard and NFIB are abominations. They are far beyond the small, relatively weak centralized government they tried to create.

Sure, as soon as you explain your desire for nutcake liberal judges who strip rights, the constitution, and chop up babies the day before birth.

a liberal Republican ended slavery. What happened to them? They got run out of your party. What did liberals do that was so offensive to the Republican party? I'll tell you what they did. Liberals got women the right to vote. Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote. Liberals created social security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty. Liberals ended segregation. Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, Liberals created Medicare. Liberals passed the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act. What did Conservatives do? They opposed every one of those programs. Every one. So when you try to hurl the word 'liberal' at my feet, as if it were dirty, something to run away from, something that I should be ashamed of, it won't work, because I will pick up that label and wear it as a badge of honor.

So do you have any actual thoughts of your own or are you going to continue to quote complete passages from the Sitcom the West Wing?

The desire is to have people on the SC that believe in original intent and don't read the constitution as some document that must be interpreted based on the whim of the day.

Here's a little advice, stay off the loser websites like DUhunderground, huffypuffy, turn off racheal madcow...and get out and enjoy the sunshine.

The country is going to be alright. Life is going to go on.

WRONG. We want justices who will consider whether the law in question is constitutional. That is their job.

If they consider right v. wrong, then you get bad decisions that are inconsistent with the Constitution.

Most self described and/or labeled "conservatives" in America today are mostly "classic liberal" "originalists." America needs our courts packed with folks who belive in the Constitution as amended, not a bunch of socialist or fascist-progresive tyrants making law from the bench.

Why do people act as if the Constitution is some infallible document? Hasn't it already been changed over 20 times?

Should we also follow the Old Testament to the letter?

What about the pope saying limbo doesn't exist anymore?
