Will Americans finally pull their heads out of their (large) asses and finally vote for someone who can maybe do some good for the country?

Nothing will ever change until the law makers on Capitol Hill are ousted and replaced. Each POTUS since Carter has "doubled" the national debt. This is not isolated to GWB or BHO.

I will not vote for an incumbent career politician for at least the next four election cycles and that starts in the 2014 midterms. Washington D.C. needs a thorough cleansing.

I'm all for it. It would also help if we had journalists instead of partisan hacks in the media.

Mostly irrelevant.

Look at who owns the media, the tv, the newspapers, the magazines, the radio.

Americans have been voting for people who can do good for the country. It just happens to be a tough job. Presidents react to situations beyond their control much more than they act on their own initiative. And with the advent of partisan news, you'll always be able to find somebody to tell you "your guy" is doing a great job and the "other guy" is ruining the country. There's just too much money to be made by stroking egos.

This is how it's going to be. They're all going to be "the worst ever" going forward - for the foreseeable future. The only thing that will bring everyone together is some sort of 911 type tragedy or war. And even that won't last. We're spoiled by our own success.

As nice as that sounds, and as much sense as it makes it's mostly nonsense. While nothing is untrue, it's all off base.

The two parties are an illusion, the illusion is perpetuated by partisan news. The two parties control everything about the election process.

This seems to fly over everyone's head here. Most truly believe the MSM is some liberal conspiracy run by dem operatives and not the corporate profit driven-war profiteers that actually control it

I would like to see the parties pay for their own primaries.

Do you think that the Citizen United ruling will increase or decrease our chances of getting to vote for the candidates you refer to?

Polarization 180 degrees; no matter who is elected they won't please half the electorate. It's neither the Congress or the governmental mechanism...the problem is the Ideological division and the Truth of Numbers, as such relates to particular ideological consequences.

Vision - in them that lack it - is the only solution for a prosperous society. And that can neither be taught, nor mandated through Law.

This thread is more of a deflection. It's like liberals can't just admit the obvious truth that Obama is the worst president in modern history and leave it at that.

They gotta bring Bush into the confession to make them feel better.

"Well...uh...BUSH SUCKED TOO!"

I don't. I won't miss Obama when he leaves office, either.
