RSC Chairman Mark Walker (R-N.C.) sounded a positive note after the meeting, however. “We were overwhelmingly blown away by the expectation that the Vice President just laid out for us,” Walker said.

Has anyone even proposed allowing competition across state lines? That should help lower costs.

Awesome if it makes it to the final draft.

It's supposed to be in one of the subsequent Phase 2-3.

How many that fit this criteria don't work currently? Are there hard numbers that support this provision?

This could be a very positive step.

Why not now? This feels like a bait and switch and the interstate competition gets isolated and lobbied to death by insurance companies.

That across state lines stuff is for, I think they said, part 2 of the total 3 parts.

This is the repeal part, hence the medicaid/medicare stuff, the repeal of the mandate to buy, etc.. Then comes replace, then comes funding.

That comes in the next PHASE or 2 supposedly.

I thought Ryan wasn't going to allow anyone to change HIS WAY?

It appears that it was a good hurdle to get over. And obviously since should reduce the deficit compared to Obamacare, it's in line with their stances.

HOWEVER, I feel like this they are settling top easy for a less than optimal bill. Maybe they would have eventually had to in the end, but at least try to get something better through first.

A Republican group will endorse a Republican bill. Shocker. It's a bad bill & will do more harm than good.

Am I the only who finds the notion of phases concerning? If the bill would be much better with components from the additional phase, then why not include those now? What good is passing a half optimal law and risking the not being able to pass the parts that will make it more optimal. I find this disingenuous.

This isn't the end of the process. We will see where it goes.

It is considering they did not have the votes.

1- The bill is not done yet.

2- It has to pass the house, move to the senate where they will adjust it.

The bill is absolute garbage.

The people who voted are about to be sabotaged like other times in history.

I have read the entire bill.. It is complete horseshite: yea, I voted for Trump and I have voted Republican since I could vote.

The bill is a trojan horse pile of shite.
