If they ARE going to move forward with an investigation, appointment of a special counsel is really the only way to do it. Conducting such an investigation under the supervision of Biden's AG would be entirely inappropriate.

Trump is a guy on the up and up. Clean as they come. DOJ won't find a thing on him.
If anything we should go back to the old Qanon logic: Trump is so good and such an amazing person and political operator, Merrick Garland is probably working for him, like Mueller was, and this whole thing is probably a white hat op to discredit democrats. Trust the plan.
