what about the 2003 Oscars when she leaped to her feet and gave child rapist Roman Polanski a standing ovation after he was announced as winner of Best Director for The Pianist?

i guess she was standing in protest over him being nominated.

Mike Pence drinks water.
Ergo, Mike Pence is an ISIS member.

It's a well known practice in Christian circles for people of the opposite sex to not put themsleves in a situation where they are alone together. It's a good common sense spiritual practice.

What you cannot seem to grasp is it is generally not a matter of trust between the husband and wife...

It is more about not putting yourself in a position, as a person in power, where things can be claimed that did not happen for political or other gain... All it takes is a rumor nowadays to get a snowball rolling...

really? i don't mind dining with a group of co-workers (men & women) on business trips but i would feel uncomfortable just dining alone with a female co-worker in the same situation.

what's so odd about that? i don't care what my wife thinks, its a choice i made for myself.

maybe weird isn’t the right word, not trying to judge anyone’s way of doing anything. whatever works for you

it would never cross my mind to worry about having a business dinner with a woman that’s not my wife or girlfriend, and i wouldn’t give a second thought if she went out to dinner with a male client. we both travel frequently for work and do so all the time.

to be fair, i get it a little more for a public figure like pence. nobody’s going to recognize me and notice the person i’m dining with isn’t my wife.

it still seems like a “weird” policy to me, but again, whatever floats your boat

i guess we just disagree on this. i don’t see anything at all disrespectful with having dinner with a woman that’s not my wife, not if she has dinner with some dude. if you do, great. I imagine we both respect our girls

My GF and I do the same damn thing. You don't go to dinner with a person of the opposite sex. She won't go to lunch on campus with a guy even if in a study group unless others are with them out of respect to me. This is called keeping a healthy relationship. Something liberals know nothing about.

i realize im in the minority on this board and there's very little room from the majority for acknowledging different viewpoints. see above.

stoked to hear you've figured out healthy relationships while still in college. puts you way ahead of the game. and established that "liberals" in their entirety know nothing about same.

i respect my girl by trusting her to be out at dinner with a dude. you respect yours by not going out to dinner with women. good on both of us if it creates a lifelong relationship.

not everything is politics bro. relax
