'member when this was the headline?

'member when liberals told us Pence was a weirdo for doing this?

'member when Meryl Streep got up and cried about how Trump and his ilk treat women amid weepy eyes and then said that Weinstein was GOD and Polaski is one of the best people on the planet?

Smart man, if he wants to stay married and out of trouble... All women are crazy, except for you mama and if you ask your dad, you will find out your mama is crazy too...

Any male who has been in a position of power in the 21st century understood why he did that. Protect himself from false accusations+prevents his own temptation. Unless they were being intentionally obtuse

I have been married for 31 years and this has been my policy as well, reason being that even tho nothing would be going on I would never put my wife in the position of having to defend my actions from someone who knows us and might see me with someone else and start a rumor that could hurt her.

Taliban/ Isis won't sit with or interact with women not their wives either. Religious right is religious right I guess.

I do this as well. I got married with the understanding that once I had a wife, female friends, or hanging out one on one with another woman were things that I was giving up.

Not a demand from the wife. But I was not going to give her even the slightest cause for suspicion or anyone else for that matter.

i have the same rule and i have people that tell me that's a backwards, sexist policy.

and i'm happy to be backwards and sexist but still happily married.

There was a great Tweet yesterday containing this image. The Tweeter said something to the effect of "Guess who's not fending off accusations of sexual assault? Mike Pence."

I can absolutely see how someone wouldn't have the same view, but only an idiot would get outraged over his comment.

I had dinner with a female colleague on a business trip one time. I had to do it and I was so uncomfortable.

I never got the "weirdness" of this story from Pence. This should be normal operation for a married man.

quote:

Five years ago, actress Meryl Streep accepted the award for best actress in a motion picture drama at the 2012 Golden Globe awards. She thanked God for giving her the opportunity to star as Margaret Thatcher in 2011’s The Iron Lady. But the God she was referring to was not in heaven. “I just wanna thank my agent Kevin Huvane and God, Harvey Weinstein, the punisher, Old Testament, I guess,” Streep joked at the time. She would go on to win the Oscar for the same role, an award that Weinstein lobbied hard for.
