The strain of Enterovirus is EV-D68, if it was a different strain then it would have different designation than one previously discovered.

What makes you think I'm a progressive warrior? Because I don't wish for the president's kids to die?

I never said I wanted them to die.

Are you capable of reading? I won't mock you any further if you have a legitimate learning disability.

But this is SO for you warriors of prog. Think you have them in some religious gotcha, fail, get caught, make up strawman, get caught and slammed again.

Next move for you will be to call me angry or racist.

It's not hard to understand that the illegal immigrants that have been placed in every state and this new, mysterious virus can and probably are related.

Two unrelated border policies have hobbled the government’s response to the surge in UAC. The first policy was about how the government should humanely treat apprehended UAC. Children used to be treated in the same way as adults were. That practice was challenged by a 15-year-old Salvadorian girl named Jenny Lisette Flores in a 1985 lawsuit that was finally settled in 1997.

Under the Flores settlement, as it became known, UAC were exempted from “expedited removal” — a newly created process in 1996 that allowed for removal of non-asylum seekers without a court hearing. Instead, it required the government to “ensure the prompt release of children” and place them “in the least restrictive setting appropriate” pending a court hearing. Parents, legal guardians and adult relatives of the UAC were the preferred appropriate settings designated by the government.

In 2002 and again in 2008, this legal framework was codified and clarified with very little resistance in Congress. At that time, few unaccompanied children were crossing illegally despite these relatively lenient policies. In 2008, Congress actually liberalized the Flores agreement considerably by making releases much less discretionary and moving temporary detention to Health and Human Services prior to the children being settled with their families or in foster care.

When it came up for a vote, 183 Republicans voted for the 2008 law. In fact, even Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), the tough chairman of the House Judiciary Committee who just held a hearing entitled “An Administration-Made Crisis: The Border Surge of Unaccompanied Alien Minors,” voted for the current policy regime.

The 2008 bill was crafted by both the Republican and Democratic Judiciary Committee staff and was so uncontroversial that the final version passed by unanimous consent in the Senate and a voice vote in the House. It was then signed into law by a Republican president.

It's the Eric Cartman style - I'm not saying illegals did it and Obama's responsible. I'm just asking questions.

Is there any proof that it started with illegals? Or are we just throwing it out there to push an agenda?

This. I think it is. I want to prove it.

Whether it was or not is irrelevant. It's the law and it preceded Obama. So those blaming him for a law he had nothing to do with and wishing illness on his kids are just wrong.

But let's not let truth and reality affect a good lynching.

Carry on.

Yet, when faced with a clear and present problem, the Democrats doubled down and refused any change to the law, which was proposed in a bipartisan way by a Texas senator (R) and representative (D).

I don't know how many times I heard a Democrat hedge when asked whether these kids would be sent back to Central America. Their hedge was "they will be accorded the benefit of the law."

Meanwhile, 70 percent of them have slipped into the shadows forever, and are stressing schools as far away as Connecticut.

How did Senator Obama vote on this law? Need a hint? He was for it, as was just about everyone in Washington because the law was about the horrible illicit sex trade.

Years later, the Obama administration twisted the law into an excuse to import a bunch of illegals who no one has asserted were in any danger of becoming sex slaves.......only slaves to the dimocratix party.
