We are fricked as a society because of AI though. Of course it makes sense but it is going to decimate jobs like never seen before.

We already do. It's called sales tax on the robot, sales tax on the maintenance parts, income taxes for the maintenance workers, etc.
These things don't exist in a vacuum.
