Thomas Sowell is legit.

Sowell against anyone is unfair and Williams would just be brutal with his White People Get Out of Jail Free cards - so they can get over their stupid white guilt.

Milo is very good and when he drops the schtick is terribly effective

I don't know much about his debating skills, but his speeches are great, the one he gave on the floor of the European Parliament after the Brexit vote was classic

Glad you added this piece because I think we can all accept that Trump is not a very good debater.

and yet he destroyed "the most qualified candidate ever" each time.

Trump is vastly over rated in so many areas. Can he go into the nitty gritty like Cruz? No, but he doesn't have to because that's not his style. He's a CEO, who looks at the big picture and that means he doesn't always know all the details. And thinking that the President should know all the details even if his big picture stinks is exactly how we got into the mess we're in.

Would I call Trump a "top debater?" No, but he certainly isn't awful at it.

It most certainly is not Thomas Smith.

I learned who Thomas Smith was last week from this clip.

No. He can't hear.

I'd go with Milo on some topics.
Cruz on any topic.
Camille Paglia on a lot of topics.

If it was an issue of money, I'd pay 100 bucks to see Paglia vs. Gloria Alred on 'Is there a rape culture on the college campus?'

Well, if we're going with the deceased like Milton and WFB I'll add Marcus Tullius Cicero. And if the Greeks get mad I'll add Demosthanes.

You're probably old enough to hear Cicero debate. Since I'm not that old (and there's no footage of Cicero debating), I can't put him on top of my list. It would be like me saying that Gaius Appuleius Diocles is the greatest athlete of all time solely based on what I read about him.

We've got audio tapes of Wm. Jennings Bryant. He's dead but he was a much better debater than 90% of other presidential candidates.
But most people today either never heard of him or think of him as the disliked character portrayed in the movie 'Inherit the Wind.'

Newt. I could doze while he demolishes our opponents. The man is brilliant.
