Will this be the first HUD secretary to actually have lived in HUD shelters?
I seriously questioned this pick until I realized the above statement.
Who better to dismantle a slave system than one who has broken free?

Ugh. HUD is a mess now as it is, and now we have someone with absolutely no clue about the industry heading it up. Not a good pick imo.

Will this be the first HUD secretary to actually have lived in HUD shelters?
Or, the first ever cabinet position to have lived through the same?

Provide opportunities to underserved populations through advocacy and development of opportunities for urban renewal.
Off the top of my head.
Off the top of my head.

Appreciate you two taking a stab at it.
HUD is a massive subsidized social engineering department. It's mission is as malleable as the CEO of the country wants it to be.
There is literally no qualification other than to be a competent manager.
Trump's vision of what HUD *should* be in a Trump-directed America is what dictates whether Carson is an excellent pick or not.
My point being, it would be extremely premature (assuming you are posting in good faith and with an open mind) to hammer Carson as a good or bad pick for HUD.
Carson could be a stud for it... or he could be completely wrong.

Mother of All Ambiguous statements. What's at the end of that "..."? Formula One Race Team? Dairy Farm? Global Cycle Rickshaw Courier?

No, I'm trying to tell you you might be becoming wrong come 1/21.
This may not be your fathers HUD any longer and, as such, Carson might be the most awesomest hire ever. Bigly even.

I have friends who work in the mortgage industry as well. I don't see how Carson being named HUD secretary affects that. Things like Dodd-Frank will have a bigger impact.

Even if you wanted to "dismantle" it as some have suggested, it would take a large amount of knowledge just knowing how to get started and all of the pieces you would affect. Dr. Sleepy would be the last person I would place in that role.
Personally, I would take Dr. Carson on as an independent advisory role, but give him the freedom to investigate HUD and see where he sees areas for improvement. Tangling him up with the management of such a large operation seems like a lousy fit for his skills. Ironically, Trump would be a better fit, IMO, if there weren't so many conflicts of interest in a housing department.

HUD's mission is to make white people live next to black people next to brown people next to yellow people next to red people so close until they all randomly mate together to create a super race of grayish people.

I agree. I'll volunteer. I can do it coach. Put me in.
