Asians surpass whites on average SAT reading scores for the first time

Pretty amazing considering many asian students have parents whose first language was not english, and who still speak their native language in the home

Asians maintain their culture but assimilate
Many first generation hispanics don't assimilate. They live in neighborhoods surrounded by Spanish speakers, and shop at stores run by Spanish speakers.
And then wonder why they struggle with English the one or two times a day on average they speak it. Especially when they do converse in English, it is highly casual and idiomatic as opposed to formal wordplay mastery that the SAT tests for.
The trend is due to the growing culture pandering to being unable to speak English effectively, especially out West.
