As usual, the general point is entirely missed regarding the kneeling

Let me ask you this. During the height of uproar over police shootings, would you advise a company that sells basketball shoes to run a commercial in support of police officers? I mean, just a general not even political one? Would you advise that? I sure as frick wouldn't.
It's a BUSINESS. It doesn't even matter if you think that you are 100% right, pissing in the cereal of a substantial portion of your customer base is kinda dumb.
And hell, football fans, and fans of stuff in general are VERY tolerant. They may HATE your politics, but they'll typically still go watch your football games. They may hate that you've had 20 children by 9 women, but, they'll still watch you play basketball. They may hate that you run around pissing on conservatives all day but still watch your movies.
Why? Because they aren't dealing with any of that shite when they're watching the game or the movie.
BUT, if you make a movie that overtly pisses on a group of people, you probably can reasonably expect that those people will not feel compelled to pay to get pissed on.
There seems to be a HUGE disconnect on this reality in America among liberals. And it makes no sense. It's basic business 101.
Now, you can piss on a substantial portion of your customer base if you really think it's THAT important. But, when you do, you really can't expect that they'll still give you their money at the same rate.
Liberals seem to believe that the rational response to them insulting you is for you to say, "Well frick, now I've seen the error of my ways........here, take some of my money".
They thought that in the election too. "Hey you fricking racist/sexist........prove you aren't racist/sexist by voting for me!!!".
On what planet to they think that makes sense?

A business owner has every right to make a political statement. If you're cool with potentially alienating money, that's on you. Is it a smart choice? It's whatever you think.
The NFL has been making their choices, the product hasn't been what the consumers have seemed to enjoy. Will they adjust?

Absolutely

Correct.
I can provide an analogy. I'm a Jason Isbell fan and follow him on Twitter. He HaTES conservatives. He's made some awful tweets about conservatives, Trump, etc. His latest record is very anti anything right leaning but it's selling well.
Shortly after this records release he makes a tweet mocking people saying that "see I speak my mind and this record is my best seller" completely ignoring the premise of the OP. Naturally several of his fans pointed out "well I don't agree but I actually tolerate different views". Naturally Progs then mocked those fans as well to the point that one of those fans that was tolerant eventually said "eff it I'm done with all you".
I know it's anecdotal but this is accurate. People are tired of this shite.
This Tuesday Isbell will be right up the road from me live. I'm not going. Didn't vote for Trump but I'm tired of being preached to. Same goes for a lot of other bands I supported. I go to about 15-20 concerts a year.

The freefall in ratings are proof of how the public feels about this. The only question is how far down will those ratings need to go before the NFL itself and/or the owners decide they need to step in to save their businesses.
Considering that the average ratings for any given NFL game in the past two weeks has dropped by 3.4 versus 2015 ratings for the same period, I can't see them putting up with much more of this.

Yep.
People are tired of going to social gatherings where liberals, WITHOUT FAIL, will shite on everything conservative and very vocally, and we all smile and stay nice.
And, I know liberals will pull a whatabout but ya know what, I would be perfectly happy if I looked up one day and liberals simply said conservative ideas where wrong.
But they can't fricking do that. They can't even grant THAT much respect.
EVERYTHING is "that's cause you're a racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe, hate old people, hate children, blah blah blah".
If you can't give me the respect of granting that I arrive at my views without them being motivated by some "ism", then my reaction at this point is, "frick you.........you'll get the same".

I agree with your post. Although still bs because I can't do it, if an athlete wants to make a social media all about politics that's one thing. When the actual product becomes filled with political crap then I have will not watch.

But that's the thing, Progs are programmed to hate and destroy. They have no respect for you once they categorize you like they do with everything. They wil never show respect because in their mind any disagreement is hate, then they project that hatred everywhere.

If nobody told you to be upset about the kneeling, you wouldn't be. You have to actively look for it at an NFL game since they do it on the sidelines and they don't show it on TV.
Are you upset by the players that stand but play with their balls or talk to their buddy next to them or the fans that do likewise?

Y'all just want to keep the black man under your boot. Sorry, but this is really what you are saying.
What's the over under on players kneeling this weekend? I'd put the line at 150.

Also known as race-traitors. In the civil rights era another term was used.
