The bad thing is there is literally a line out the door of men trying to get into the school. And first few days they literally start just cutting people at the back of the line no matter their abilities. Total BS move by the army. Why not open up infantry school first?

They could lower the standards by more than half and then MAYBE, 1 girl in 1,000,000 could pass.

It's total bullshite, but reality matters not.

Its pretty funny. My dad was smart as hell, but had only a high school diploma, and never advanced beyond the rank of Corporal in the army, but he knew fifty years ago that women didn't belong in combat. (Korean War vet).
Somehow, flag officers and Ivy League politicians have yet to figure this out.

No, they know. They just give a frick about their careers more than they do the lives of soldiers. Any flag officer that signs on to this has sold his soul and needs take a look in the mirror and realize what a POS they are. Seriously, it's infuriating. And they'll all hide behind "I was following orders." It's fricking bullshite and I wish they'd all just they really don't give a frick about the effectiveness of the US military or the lives of the soldiers sailors airmen and Marines they command.

The mountain phase will break them alone.
anyway notice how they are offering the chance at the leadership course and not a shot at getting a tan beret.

They won't make it.
This isn't just about physical toughness, this is a school designed to break men who 300+ the APFT for a warm up. It's a leadership school that sustains a person at 75% of maximum discomfort a human body can handle (100% = death, most call it quits at just 25%).

Those who've never been have not the first idea how difficult this really is.
This isn't Marine or Army infantry basic or the officer infantry schools (which are pretty damn difficult physically in and of themselves).
This is a whole new ballgame. Like GeauxxTigers, I will bet my first born child that not a single woman passes...ever. Even Olympic level female athletes would struggle mightily with the first week and mountain phase.
It's one of the most difficult military courses in the world. Farting money, time, and energy on women on a course they will never pass when you have hundreds or thousands of men who are stud soldiers trying to get in is fricking ridiculous. Absolutely absurd.

Rangers are supposed to be one of the most elite group of soldiers in our military. Women joining this program will only hurt that. Women can't perform in battle as well as men do.

Good for them. If a woman can meet the standards, go for it.

1. They can't meet the standards
2. It's more than just the physical reasons why women shouldn't be in combat units.

There are women more physically and emotionally fit for combat than some men in the same position.

I'm assuming (without reading the original post and link) is that women who could pass (which I don't see happening) would earn the tab but not be authorized to go to a ranger bat? Having these women as infantry rangers etc would decrease combat readiness, it would be atrocious. Kinda reminds me of my brigade wanting to organize a fet (female engagement team) shortly before our deployment. But that never came into fruition.
