The funny part is that they've pigeon-holed themselves with their own identity politics. They'll never be able to run a white guy for the foreseeable future. Pretty soon they won't even be able to run a white woman.

One of my more outspoken liberal (douche) friends brought up Kamala Harris as someone who he "thinks is really good" and "would support her in 2020". I had to shut that shite down.
Junior Senator Harris is merely a representation of the intersectionality in politics that the Left wants elected because of her viewpoint as a black, muslim woman in America. The more the Left tries to promote this agenda for political purposes, the more clear and prominent resistance there will be by the majority of people around the country not living in major cities. People who will determine the outcome of the next election cycle.
If this is their game, then so be it. Let them overlook members of their party who would, according to polls, "crush" Trump, like Biden or Sanders. The problem with the Democrats is that no one is left enough, and so hopefully the Republicans can unite against this wave of insanity and get policy in place before Trump jumps sides.

Sanders is clearly gearing up to run again. If Trump does run again, though, Bernie isn't the right choice to face him. Trump beat the ONE democrat that he could possibly beat. Better to pick someone a little younger to face him next time just to make sure an unexpected health issue doesn't hand Trump another win.
Harris would beat Trump, but as sad as it is, probably better to run a man. Trumpkins, male and female, are super threatened by the idea of powerful women which is a decent part of what motivated them. Harris would win the popular vote by double what Clinton did, but the EC vite would be close. It's a shame that this is the world we live in, but any male democrat would win with the biggest EC margin since Reagan. And on the off chance that Trump does make it a full term and run again, a landslide will be an important first step to putting this embarrassing administration behind us and it would make the inevitable butt hurt conspiracy nuts on the right look all the more stupid and help shut them up quicker.
