Fact-checking at the AP
Oct 10, 2017
Getting the facts right has been core to The Associated Press’ mission since we were founded in 1846. When a public figure or other source says something that’s not entirely true, it is our job to say that and offer the facts. Those are the items you see below in the AP Fact Check section.
In some cases – in particular, when a newsmaker makes a major, questionable claim, or a false story gains traction online – we create a separate fact-checking item that tells the true story.
======
AP FACT CHECK: Trump's statements on Iran — President Donald Trump offered a questionable reading of Iran's past economic condition . . .
AP FACT CHECK: Trump vs. Grassley on tax cuts in history — President Donald Trump is going around mischaracterizing his tax plan as the largest tax cut in U.S. history and a Republican senator is calling him out on it . . .
AP FACT CHECK: WH wrong in saying Corker behind Iran deal — White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders missed the mark on Tuesday when she accused Republican Sen. Bob Corker . . .
AP FACT CHECK: Trump seems unaware NFL pays taxes
AP FACT CHECK: Trump's empty boasts on legislation, economy — President Donald Trump’s latest recitation of his accomplishments is marked by empty boasts . . .
AP FACT CHECK: Trump strikes false notes on Puerto Rico
AP FACT CHECK: Trump's tax plan is what you make of it
AP FACT CHECK: Smoke and mirrors in Trump tax plan

The press is cancer. They see themselves as opinion makers and the arbiters of truth. Just report the news. Nothing else. It won't be profitable, but it will at least uphold their purported standards.

Facts are like "anti-Trump".

In the world of boy czar only alternative facts are allowed.

Again, I ask where was this shite when Obama was president.
I have zero issue with the media's role of watchdog. I have a massive issue when they took 8 years off from said role because of whom was in political power.

Likewise not screaming "Fake news" every time there is an easily verifiable report that you don't like kinda helps.

You know, working on HRCs campaign.

The media, in general, has never ever been a watchdog for us normal people. It will never ever BE a watchdog for us. "the media" is either one or both of these things: 1. a source of entertainment 2. A propaganda pipeline.

We didn't have a President threatening nuclear war over Twitter, publicly talking down his SOS, threatening the free press....should I go on? It's warranted with this man child.

easily verifiable report
Like the AP's NFL tax break BS?
Or the AP's downplay on the economy BS?
Or the AP's heroine mayor of San Juan vs incompetent, unfeeling POTUS BS?

Msm loves to get extremely technical. If trump said our oceans looked blue, msm would call him a lying moron and explain that oceans aren't really blue.

We didn't have a President threatening nuclear war
Instead we had a President so incompetent in foreign policy that he opened us up to that threat from NoKo, and eventually Iran.

Except for a brief eight year period between 1/09 to 1/17.
During that timeframe we were more than willing to accept that the U.S. consisted of 57 states. We assumed it was a fact.
We waited for ACA to be passed before fact checking what was actually in it. Facts are worth waiting for.
We saw no need to investigate repeated and unprecedented trips to the white house by the head of the IRS; even after white house opposition was denied participation in the voting process by the same IRS. Facts are messy.
It remains our conclusion that known facts indicate a video was the genesis of the Benghazi attack. Facts are convenient.

I would have used herpes as a comparison. Doctors are at least trying to cure cancer.

stick to supporting rapists. That seems to be your forte. Your statement above is either completely disingenuous or you are completely insane. It's a toss up.
