quote:

Black lawmakers became incensed Wednesday after a white Alabama lawmaker forwarded what the former group considered an offensive email to 91 other representatives, senators and state employees.

The email compared members of the House and Senate to monkeys fighting in a cage with a banana hanging from the ceiling. It did not specify if it was referring to federal or state government.

"Before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana," a portion of the letter reads. "You then spray all the monkeys with cold water. After a while, another monkey makes an attempt. As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the monkeys with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it...this is how today's House and Senate operates, and this is why from time to time, all of the monkeys need to be replaced at the same time."

Personally, I think the race card is over used. Why would any representative forward what he thought was a racist email to 90 of his counterparts? Honestly, it's gotten to where I totally dismiss most of these claims almost instantly.

I'm sorry, but anyone who uses a detailed monkey and banana analogy in Alabama politics probably has it coming

Why are black lawmakers so offended by someone talking about monkeys?

Some deep seeded insecurities there.

Lynn Greer has never been accused of being the smartest member of the Alabama legislature. Did he have racist intent when he sent it? Maybe, maybe not. Is he ignorant of the fact that blacks have long been compared to monkeys? I seriously doubt that.

Unless the email specifically referred to or mentioned the black legislators (or their caucus), I don't see a problem here.

I like the concept. Everytime a member of Congress is found guilty of corruption line them all up and open up the fire hose on them.

The monkey analogy is pretty bad though.

Honestly, when you look at the federal government doesn't remind you of monkeys throwing shite at each other? Dems and republican have become an embarrassment to the American people. They are just seeing who can throw the most shite and have it stuck. And I think the democrats are winning.

Okay this might be legit
